Multiples

MoM's what did you wear or what fit the last several weeks of pregnancy?????

I bought clothes one size or two sizes up when I started the maternity clothes shopping and they have gotten me this far but I'm at a stand still.  Not a single shirt goes over my belly.  I buy an XL and it's huge in the arms, neck and boobs but still not long enough to cover the belly.  All the pants I bought fit my body now but the belly band cuts into the belly and hurts/itches.  Then if i try the yoga pants that go under the belly I can't hold them up.  Can't wear a knee lenght dress because that "knee lenght" dress barely covers anything and I would have to stand the entire time or show my personal parts off.

What did you wear the last weeks of pregnancy with your multiples?

Re: MoM's what did you wear or what fit the last several weeks of pregnancy?????

  • I wore my husband's old huge sweatshirts. I had two maternity shirts that still fit because I bought them bigger than the sized up shirts I originally bought. They were a little big in other areas but it was the best I could do. I still wore my pre-pregnancy sweatpants and yoga pants. They fit better under my belly than my maternity pants did at that point. I never had a problem with them staying up. I also wasn't working so this wardrobe was acceptable. I'm not sure what I would have done if I was working.

  • My husband's tshirts and my own cotton underwear.  I am not kidding.  I was on modified bedrest so it didn't really matter what I was wearing.  I

Sorry I am not of more help to you.  I know how annoying it is that nothing fits.  Just try to stay comfortable.

  • GAP Maternity.  Not sure how tall you are but I am 5'6 and their shirts were always long enough for me.

  • I had this amazing pair of maternity leggings from target that I wore almost daily with various dresses and a couple super stretchy sweaters I found at American Eagle in two or three sizes bigger than I normally wear.  I think they fit well because They had tons of stretch in them, so the arms didnt feel so big.  I was the same way with the upper part of the shirt hanging off because the belly was big enough.

  • I had one Old Navy maternity black dress I bought in an XL and it was huge in the top and shoulders but fit and wasn't super short in the front that I could wear to work.

Surprisingly the few things that fit at the end weren't maternity. I had a pair of Lands End elastic waist knit pants in a L that still fit and a pair of knit elastic waist shorts from Macy's in a L that fit way beyond my maternity stuff.

If you can find two or three outfits you are good - just wear them over and over.

  • Yoga pants and the few maternity shirts that still fit.  I had three pair of the yoga pants and just rotated them the last two months.

  • Pajamas- i was on bedrest.  When I went out for D. appointments I wore dresses - but I only lasted until 34 weeks.
  • im 29 weeks and i am a stay at home mom so my options are probably a bit more flexible than if i were working...but right now i just wear my cotton stretch pants that i wear pg or not...prob. 3-4 times a week.  i also wear these maternity jeans that are actually really cute and comfortable.  i also wear running pants - two different kinds, pretty frequently.

for shirts i wear michael stars...im still wearing the non-maternity kind although with some of them it's getting tough.  i also have a really cute maternity michael stars shirt that i wear and a couple other maternity shirts that i got when i was pregnant with DS.  that's really it i dont have a huge wardrobe.

  • I can still wear some of my pj pants and one pair of jeans.  Other than that I'm rocking DH's shirts.  Those are the only things that cover my belly at this point.  I'm just grateful that I'm on strict bed rest, so I'm only leaving the house to go to dr's appointments.

  • I was on bedrest from 29 weeks on, but I wore a lot of XL t-shirts (my husbands or some that I just had).  I also see pictues in one of my husband's XL turtlenecks.  For bottoms, I think I wore a couple pairs of non-maternity yoga pants a ton--just had them under my belly.

  • I'm on modified bed rest, so I don't leave the house much, but I do have several of these old navy tanks that are the best thing ever. They are super comfy and long enough to cover my giant belly. I wear them under everything. https://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=68499&vid=1&pid=811671&scid=811671102

I got 2 pairs of these lounge pants, they go under my belly and stay up. I have one pair of jeans that I can still squeeze into, otherwise I wear these out of the house now.  I've convinced myself that the fabric is nice enough that they could be flowy dress pants. (It really is nice soft, kind of shiny fabric.)

  • At 31 weeks I'm still working.  I did buy a couple dresses this weekend at Destination Maternity.  They had a buy one get one free sale.  I hate the two dresses that I got.  I feel like a gian easter egg but I figured it's only for a few weeks right.  Yoga pants...that sounds good.

No jeans.  I had two pair.  One from target that I loved but they ripped last weekend.  It was a sad day at my house.  I have one pair that I hate because I cannot hold them up.  At this point I'd be good with pj's.

    Thanks so much ladies.

  • I had 3 nightgowns and 2 dresses. I was on strict bedrest and only went out for doc appts. My head nurse at my OB's office thought it was kinda funny that she only saw me in those dresses from 29w on (carried to 36w0d).

  • Old Navy yoga pants and some bravado nursing tanks that I got a couple of weeks before I have birth. I was on bed rest, so I just rotated a few clothes and only worried about being comfortable.

  • I wore size XXL maternity dresses from Target.  (I usually wear a medium).  They were big in the shoulders, but they were long enough for me and I'm 6' tall.

I also wore tunics from ON as regular shirts.  They were longer and covered my belly.

  • mat leggings (the thinner kind) with dresses & sweaters.  I had one pair of mat jeans that were still comfortable (full panel) and a couple tunic tops that were long enough (one long sleeved t-shirt from khols that was super long and made it).  I also pulled my bella band back out and wore it as a layer beneath shirts that were no longer long enough.  Around the house I wore DH t-shirts/sweatshirts with yoga pants under my belly.

  • Mainly shirts like this from Target (I had it in four colors and it fit through delivery when I measured 47 weeks). Super stretchy and the side rouching helped.

As far as bottoms, if we were out I wore maternity jeans from JCPenney though they were harder to keep up the bigger I got. If we were home I was wearing pajama bottoms or lounge pants/yoga pants. I'm a SAHM so comfort was all that mattered.

  • I was off of work so I wore DH's t-shirts (XL) and bought 2 or 3 plus size maternity shirts to cover my belly.  They were huge in my arms, but lets be honest - at that point nobody even looks at your face, just your belly.
