teacher gifts for Valentine's Day?

teacher presents again!

I'm just doing simple Valentine's w/ lollipops for V-Day for DD's classmates; should I do something for the teacher's too?  Last year, I went in w/ some other mom's and we got the 2 teaches GCs for massages, but in retrospect, I thought it was overkill.

I gave pretty generous GCs to DD's teachers @ Christmas.  I'm not really crafy or a baker - so I would do GCs again, which just seems kinda lame.

No!  I'll encourage my girls to give their teachers the same store bought little cards that their classmates are getting.  If my girls want to draw a picture or something, great.  I am not buying something else for the teachers.

My response might be colored by the fact that I think Valentine's Day is stupid.

    I agree with this.

  • I'm going to pick up some kind of chocolate thing for each teacher but I'm aiming to spend like 2 or 3 dollars max ;)

  • as a teacher i can tell you it is absolutely not necessary.  have your child just sign one of the little store bought cards for the teacher
  • I got chocolate dove hearts (like $3 ones) for her 2 main teachers.  Just a little something extra.

  • They are getting what the other kids are getting for Valentine's Day.  I did get some treat bags and bags of Hershey kisses and hugs (get it?  hugs and kisses) to put in those so they will likely get some of that.

  • My girls are doing cards with a temp tattoe and giving one to their teachers along with all the kids plus we got a box of chocs for the teachers to share.

  • I'm getting ours a jumbo container of hand sanitizer. DD's going to decorate a cut-out of her hand, and it'll say, "You deserve a hand." I know the teacher is trying to watch her weight, so I don't want to get her anything food related.

  • I'm saying no but I know I'm going to cave and either get a Starbucks card or Godiva heart chocolate.  My mom was a teacher and her job was so thankless... any time I feel cheap I think if I have it I should do something.

Now for next year when we have the twins in a normal pre-k, I'll probably do a plate of chocolate strawberries since they will have so many teachers.

(Hmm that makes me think I need to do something for all Rachel's EI therapists... I HATE holidays).
