Here are some pics of our teeny tiny bundle of joy! We went down to see her this morning when they do "Hands On" time, which is where they check her blood pressure using a cuff (about the size of a band-aid), reposition her, wipe her eyes, change her diaper, etc. She has 4 of these a day, every 6 hours. I think that later this week or next week they told us that they can teach us how to change her diaper and we will be able to do it.
So far, she's been doing well. Her blood gasses have been holding steady, and her vent settings are low because she is taking many breaths on her own. They weighed her last night at 2am, and she lost 10 g, was 790g instead of 800g. They said that it was perfectly normal and to be expected.
Here are some pics. The one of her holding my finger was when I was able to meet her for the first time yesterday morning. It also gives you a perspective of how tiny she is! The other pic is of her with her eyes open, a little annoyed that they disturbed her nap! (Don't worry, it wasn't so that I could take the pic. It was during one of those Hands On times where they do a bulk of regular exam/upkeep stuff.) And the last pic is of her diaper--I can't get over how tiny it is!
Thank you all ladies for the wonderful support, prayers, and positive energy!! DH, Adalyn, and myself really appreciate it! I hope that you don't mind me staying and posting on this board for a while even though I'm technically no longer pregnant! You ladies are all amazing!

Wow..I am glad you all seem to be doing good. How are you doing? Will you have a rougher/longer recovery because of what happened, or since she is born now, you should recover normally? This was definately a different situation, so I am curiuos to how it all works. Also if too personal, tell me to shove it
But does this affect you guys having more children in the future?

Baby Evangeline is here!
If the infection had gotten too far, then it would be a longer recovery because I would have to get rid of the infection. I haven't had a fever since I delivered her, so when they removed the placenta and the membranes, the infection was removed as well.
Before I went into the surgery, my OB told me that she would most likely have to do a Classical C-section based on how the baby was positioned and on the gestational age, since the uterus down low may not be developed enough for her to cut the bikini cut on the uterus there. She said that on my skin she would do the bikini cut. The difference with getting the classical c-section cut (up/down) is that it is very unlikely that a doctor would do VBAC because that is much more likely to rupture. If you get the bikini cut on the uterus, a VBAC is much more doable. However, when my OB actually got in there, she was able to do the bikini cut on the uterus.
I am at an increased risk for for pPROM (preterm premature rupture of the membranes), about 15-25% more, since that is what happened to me. However, my OB told me that I would be an excellent candidate for 17-hydroxyprogesterone weekly IM shots that start at 16 weeks and go through 36 weeks . Normally, women go to the office to get it, since it is a very thick injection, etc. However, since DH had to do all those progesterone injections for IVF, she said that she feels comfortable for him to give it to me if I do.
I've asked about whether or not the scar from the C-section would affect future ET, and both my perinatologist and OB said that it wouldn't. We have 6 embryos that were left over from our IVF cycle, and we plan to use them until we have 2 or 3 children or they're all used up. I highly doubt that we will do IVF again to get more embryos.
