Time is the main factor. There isn't a gym that's very convenient for us to use. I can use my ILs treadmill and the 30 day shred video at home and get a great workout that way. I would hate to give up even more time with the girls.
LOL at being fabulously fit! Definitely not me. RIght now, it's money, but I actually ended my previous gym membership because the one I was attending didn't have child care or fitness classes. As I've gotten into exercising more regularly, I've realized that those two things would be essential for me to pay a membership fee.
The most convenient option would be to use the local school's gym (it's nice, but small) but the hours are pretty limited and it's a little expensive. There's no childcare so that's a big issue as well.
Other than that, it would be at least a 20 minute drive to a gym and in the past, I never end up going and I have a feeling that would be a problem again and it would be ridiculous to waste the money.
I never use gym memberships. I go until I lose some weight and then stop- but are stuck paying for it. We bought a treadmill and I use that just as much as the gym- but i can just jump on for a bit anytime I want. No driving, no messing around with lockers and doubling the time taken out of my day.
Drive/childcare are my issues. I only have a sitter when I'm at work, and since DH works out of time I can't just leave her with him while I go. Which means I need to have childcare, but am nervous as to how she will do at a place like that without me. Since I bought 30DS it's just easier to do at home. No need to drive anywhere (which means less of a chance to talk myself out of going) and I can do it anytime of day, not just when the childcare would be open.
Time - I don't want to drive there, change, work out, shower, change, etc.
We have an elliptical machine at home and I also jog with the stroller in warmer weather. Or do things like 30 day shred to mix it up. I just am not a big fan of waiting for machines, or the gym atmosphere isn't always my fave (sometimes too hot, humid, smelly, crowded, etc). Plus at home I can dress however.
I feel like the time driving around etc is time I could be spending with the family.

#1 - $, just can't afford it.
#2 - childcare.
#3 - bought a treadmill so I can just run at home when DD is sleeping. Saves $ and there is no need for a sitter.
