Love, love, love Scarlett but how bad would it be if my last

name is a color word? I've been set on Scarlett for years and hubby loves it also. Who knew I would marry someone whose last name was a color word. I adore the name, but I don't want it to be too cutesy or weird sounding. WDYT?

    Eh, I would probably avoid it if it were me. But I don't think it's the worst thing ever.

    no idea what what your LN is but if it was Scarlett Green or Brown, I'd probably not even think about it.

    Now if we are talking that your LN is Scarlett Red? Houston we have a problem!

    I loove it! I don't even think of a color when I hear it. Its hard to find a name both you and your hub likes so use it!

    I'd probably avoid it. My last name has to do with a weather pattern - I love the name Mae but my child's name would be like Mae Showers. lol

    It might work as a MN though...

    I would avoid it too.  My last name is a word now.  So, there are also names I have chosen to avoid.

    TTC 10/11. IUI 2/12. BFP 3/8/12. 4/26/12 missed mc. RE consult 5/17/12. IVF #1 ER 7/13/12 53R, 41M ICSIed, 32F, 8 5d, 6 6d blasts - all PGD/frozen. PGD results 1 normal M and 1 normal F, 1 maybe M. FET 9/6, transferred 1 F embie. Beta 9/15 BFN. FET#2 planned for 11/2012 put off until 2013. Surprise BFP 11/21/12!! My son was born on 7/24/13!

    FET 4/28/2015 - Transferred 1 M embie. 5/6/15 BFP!

    Seems like I am outvoted, but I actually would kinda like it. Especially if it was Scarlett Green. I like names that are a little whimsical, but not too weird.

    I think it would be easier if we knew the last name.

    I don't mind Scarlett Brown, Scarlett Black, or Scarlett Green.

    I don't like Scarlett White, but I think that's the t endings. I can't think of any other color last names that are common.

    Do it! Most people will look at "white", "brown", or "black" as common last names rather than colors......

    I don't think Scarlet Gray sounds bad, but I wouldn't do it if you live anywhere near Ohio due to the OSU connection like a pp mentioned!

    I think I would rethink Scarlett if that were the case. Maybe as a middle name would be nice and not so obvious.

    I definitely think that you can use Scarlett.  Scarlett doesn't register as a color for me except when people use the middle name Rose or something silly like that.  I think Scarlett Gray sounds nice just pick a non-color and non-flower middle name :)

    I think Scarlett Gray sounds fine. I don't even think of Scarlett as being a color name right off. Smile
