Im so tired of everyone saying this f'ing moby wrap is so great. i've watched every video and practiced it five or six times now. She HATES it and screams. She's too low or it's too tight every time I put her in. There's no head support. I feel like she's going to suffocate or fall out. I keep practicing over and over and it's not getting better and I'm in tears. I also got the beco butterfly with the infant insert and she hates that too but it's easier to use. She has no head support in it at all. If she tries to lean her head close to me, her chin tucks into her chest and she is soo uncomfortable and her head flops around. She's always crying in the wraps and tearing at my skin to get out.
I can't put her down for a second to go to the bathroom or get something to eat because she screams and wants to be held every second of the day. Already this week, i've breastfed her while on the toilet and run out of the shower sopping wet to pick her up because she is sooo upset and crying so hard. I can't do this anymore.
Re: f'ing moby wrap
I'm sorry you're having such a tough time. I can definately relate to the not wanting to be put down thing. My mom scoffs at us, but DH and I have to take turns handing him off so we can sleep and get things done because we don't think he should have to cry it out in a crib this young.
Although the wrap is working for us, I know some babies really like to have their limbs free and therefore can't stand the wraps. It takes a while for DS to calm down in his, and unless I'm sitting down and leaning back I constantly have a hand on him to support his head or his bottom. I had the benefit of someone physically showing me how to put it on though and not just a youtube video.
Hope y'all find something that works for you soon.
This is some good advice! I too have read Happiest Baby on the Block although some of it is common sense
Moby has been fantastic for us. There is a huge learning curve and the only way I was able to learn it without giving up is the step-by-step pictures in the booklet. That way I could learn at my own pace. Each time I'd go through it before I'd try to put baby in it. He's in the moby as we speak.
But there are other ways like the pp mentioned, swaddling, vibrations (our bassinet vibrates and sings), the swaying from the swing (my kid hates the swing), etc.
Good luck! PS if you'd like, we coudl skype and I could show you how I wrap mine. Just PM me.
