Bring Home Outfits for Team Green

Any Team Green Moms have outfits for their LO? I plan on bringing two to the hospital (one boy and one girl) but haven't gotten out to purchase any yet. Am I way behind in the game? I have a scheduled c-section March 9th and am beginning to panic over how little I have it together - No hospital bag packed yet or anything! Just curious how everyone is making out?

Re: Bring Home Outfits for Team Green

  • I packed one of each. I really wanted a little boy our first time, and we got one!! The only thing that made me sad- man did I love that little girl outfit!

  • I am bringing 1 outfit to bring little one home in.  Its a yellow outfit, saying I love the Navy.  It has meaning to me because my grandfather who rests in peace was in the navy for 40 years its a tribute to him.

  • Just one outfit, I did the same for DS. I called DS "baby bear" when I was pregnant and found a green little layette set from Carters. This time DS started calling the baby Ducky and when I found a similar Carter's Layette in white with yellow Ducky's I knew it was meant to be! I plan on framing both in shadow boxes.

  • I bought both blue and pink... I am having my mom wash one outfit depending on what we have and bring it to the hospital and returning the other... And please I'm STILL getting things together to bring to the hospital. You're in good shape!
  • We were team green with LO last time in March so we had a gender neutral st patricks day outfit.  This time I am having a csection and will be in the hospital 3 days and told DH after baby is born he can go and buy a boy outfit or a few girl outfits since we do not have any girl clothes.  I think he likes the idea of getting to pick out the first outfit and I will look forward to seeing what he brings since I usually pick the outfits.  I wouldn't worry about packing bags till 36-37 weeks personally.  I packed lots of stuff first time around and didn't use barely any of it.  Planned csection this time but still do not plan on bringing much other than camera, laptop, phone, chargers, boppy, toiletries, snacks, nursing tank, socks, and going home outfit for me.  We live close to the hospital so DH will go back and forth.  The hospital provides everything else for you and baby.  Last time I had my own towels, pillows, several outfits, diaper bag, movies, books, etc...then again we went in at 1am and baby was born at 850am and I slept through most if it so all the extras were not necessary.

  • I definitely don't have a bag packed yet but I'm only bringing one outfit. It's a red and brown sock monkey romper so it'll work for either sex.

  • We're bringing two gender neutral outfits -- one in NB size with froggies, one in 3mos size with duckies. Both are already packed in the hospital bag, but, then, we're due "any day now", lol. You've still got time to get yours packed, for sure. :)

  • No packing here, but we have a vague-ish bringing home outfit plan.  Basically it's gender neutral but can coordinate with either the pink or blue pants I bought on sale at Target.  I'm learning to knit and might knit both a pink and blue hat for bringing home.  Depends on how well the learning goes Big Smile

  • We are due March 13th and are behind too!  The nursery isn't even remotely put together, baby laundry not washed, bags aren't packed.  We'll get to it!  No need to panic.

I was going to do 2 outfits also, but this weekend I was sucked into The Gap Outlet and found this adorable neutral sleeper outfit with jungle animals.  I loved it and figured that would be easiest.  I worry with a boy outfit and a girl outfit, can you put one on the baby that isn't washed? But if you wash them, then you can't return them.  I probably think to hard about it!  So far I have bought everything in 0-3 months, no newborn things.  I'm not anticipating a baby under 8lbs...I was a big baby, my husband was a big baby, and this baby is consistently measuring big.  So if the 0-3 months are big, they won't be for long.

  • My great-grandmother alwas=ys said that babies are suppossed to come home in white.  She gave me a gorgeous white gown for DD.  Unfortunately we didn't get to use it because DD was a preemie.  We won't be using it this time around either, because I don't think I can convince my husband to put our son in a dress.  LOL

So anyway, my suggestion is to buy a white outfit.
