Babies: 3 - 6 Months

Learning to Roll - does it affect sleep for your LO?

DD just learned to roll from back to front and she learned to do front to back about half a month ago.

Now - she loves to roll!  This weekend she's already been completely spun around in her crib, had her legs through the crib slats twice, lost a sock outside the crib once, and lost her pants somehow during a nap!  And she just does not want to sleep for longer than 30 minutes anymore!

I don't know if it's just this 4MW or if it's just a result of learning to move more, or what?

It's crazy!  Will it end?  Any advice?

Re: Learning to Roll - does it affect sleep for your LO?

  • Our DD, who had become the worst sleeper in the world (at least that is how it felt), suddenly started sleeping better when she figured out how to get all the way on her tummy in her crib and fell asleep like that.  Now, every time we put her down, she instantly flips and goes right to bed!  She too, though, went through about a week of what you are describing until she got her "technique" down and realized how much she loved to sleep on her tummy!  We spent many a hours watching her on the monitor doing all sorts of acrobatic tricks!
