Updates: How are you feeling? Any events/news to share? New pregnancy symptoms or any that have disappeared?
Feeling fine.Heartburn is starting to come back. Usually that means baby will have a lot of hair.
Question of the Week: Before watching Dr. OZ had no ideal people thought that old woman is having a baby! So how did people react when you announced your pregnancy?
We have only told family and close friends. They were thrilled. I am not sure how my boss will react. My ob said wow 38 and still fertile, I thought to myself hey I am not that old.
Feeling great seeing that i'm 40 weeks pregnant. Was hoping this one would come on his/her own and i could attempt a VBAC, but will probably end up with rcs this week.
Nobody really batted an eye. Many of my friends were mid-late 30s when they had their first. People at work assume i'm younger than i am. I don't do anythin
g to correct them My midwife has never mentioned my AMA status.
Updates: Feeling pretty good. Only complaint worth mentioning is I feel extremely full, like uncomfortably so, after I eat. No matter how much I eat. I've tried eating several smaller meals thru the day as recommended, but that didn't help either. In fact, I'm finding it really hard to even drink the recommended amount of water a day. I have an appointment with Dr. next Tuesday so I'll see what she recommends. We also can find out what the sex is, which I am 90% sure we will. (So, I guess I'm no longer Team Green. ;-)
QOTW- I didn't see the Dr. Oz Show but have heard the back lash on here. I personally don't hold TV doctors in high regard and probably would have turned the channel anyway. Generally, the response we received when we told everyone the good news was first, shock, then excitement and happiness. People were shocked at first because we never told anyone we were even trying or even considering growing our family.
The only person who made a rude comment regarding my age was a very young nurse at my OB office. She asked, "Why did you wait so long to have kids?" I replied, "Well, I wanted to kick my crack habit before starting a family." Shut her up pretty quick.

Updates: How are you feeling? Any events/news to share? New pregnancy symptoms or any that have disappeared? Still pregnant and locked up tight. Question of the Week: Before watching Dr. OZ had no
ideal people thought that old woman is having a baby! So how did people
react when you announced your pregnancy?
No one reacted any differently than they would have if I had announced I was having a baby at 28. I've already had one baby after 35 and it is common in my family and DH's family for women to have babies "later". The same is true among my friends and in my area of the country in general. So it has really been no big deal.

Updates: How are you feeling? Any events/news to share? New pregnancy symptoms or any that have disappeared?
I don't feel as bloated, but my pantsare barely buttonable (I've gone up a pant size). I'm still crossing my fingers to make it to my first appointment next week, but I'm totally excited to be able to say that it's next week. One day at a time, and hopefully I'll get there and see for myself that everything looks good. Then I can have one less thing to worry about.
Question of the Week: Before watching Dr. OZ had no ideal people thought that old woman is having a baby! So how did people react when you announced your pregnancy?
We haven't openly announced it yet. I told my Mom, and SILs. No one else knows. My Mom was pretty indifferent, she was of the opinion that DS should have been an only child for some reason (she wouldn't have a right to talk about my age since she was 37 when she had my brother, and he was an accident), my SILs congratulated me because they knew we were trying for a long time, but they reserved any excitement since they know I've had 2 m/c's, they're of the opinion that age isn't really a big deal.. I didn't watch Dr. Oz, I don't like TV docs.
Updates: How are you feeling? Any events/news to share? New pregnancy symptoms or any that have disappeared?
Feeling ready to have this baby. I think I had a couple minor contractions over the weekend after spending all afternoon Saturday at the mall prom dress shopping with DD. Now if we could just get things moving I will be very happy. I know some of you don't agree with induction or having baby come earlier, but I'm beyond miserable right now and a terrible beyotch to my DH and DD so the minute I can have this baby I'm all for it.
Question of the Week: Before watching Dr. OZ had no ideal people thought that old woman is having a baby! So how did people react when you announced your pregnancy?
I didn't see the show. Just heard about it on here. The only comments I received were not so much about my age as about the fact that I have a 17 year old so why would I want to "start over". This has really been the only comment that I get consistently. I even had to push my GYN to refer me to an RE when we'd been trying for 6 months after a m/c. She felt that I was young enough to not worry about it. I don't really even care what anyone else thinks about it. I have always wanted another child, but knew I didn't want to do it alone again and it just took this long to find DH and make it happen.

Feeling great! Just seem to have gotten really big in the past 3 days.
Question of the Week: Before watching Dr. OZ had no ideal people thought that old woman is having a baby! So how did people react when you announced your pregnancy?
Not a huge fan of Dr. Oz- only heard about his topic from the boards here. When I told close friends and family - they were super excited! They knew what a challenge we had conceiving the other 2. I "outed" myself on Facebook yesterday - overall it was good! A couple comments from people who have kids in high school but I kept my snarky comments to myself.
hi there, racampbell1 (Rachael) would like to share that we are having a GIRL!!! yay!! EDD is still 5/14/12. Only 15 weeks to go!!!
Updates: How are you feeling? Any events/news to share? New pregnancy symptoms or any that have disappeared?
Nothing major to share, which I am VERY thankful for (we had two losses before this pregnancy) so I am happy to be lucky enough to be "boring" this time. The only "symptom" I keep having is that I am hungry all.the.time. I'm scared of how much weight I'm going to gain with this baby! I gained 40lbs with DD, and thankfully lost it all and it looks like I'll be in that range again. sigh...
Question of the Week: Before watching Dr. OZ had no ideal people thought that old woman is having a baby! So how did people react when you announced your pregnancy?
I saw about 1/2 of the Dr. Oz show and it really pi$$ed me off. Yes, women over 35 have trouble (we did, we are both 39) but EVERY WOMAN IS DIFFERENT. I hated all the generalizations that were going on - I have friends that had trouble in their late 20's and friends that got pregnant on their own in their 40's!! No one has really batted an eye about us having another baby, close friends and family were really happy for us, especially the ones who knew we'd had problems in the past.
Updates: Besides insomnia, I'm feeling good. Baby is a mover and it gets uncomfortable, but the movements are reassuring.
QOTW: I don't like Dr. Oz very much and I'm glad I didn't see the show. It would've just made my hormones go all kinds of crazy. Most of my friends had children in their 30's so we have a lot of support. I'm a HS teacher and my students think I'm old. It's amusing to hear about their "plans" on when they're getting married and have children. Well, sooner or later they'll learn that things don't always go as planned! lol!
Updates - feeling pretty good still (34 weeks now). Appointment went well last week. Tomorrow will be my last day of work, and then I will be a stay at home wife until the baby arrives (then stay at home mom). It is going to be a very strange transition. But maybe I'll have more time for Bumping!
QOTW: I never watch TV docs for just this reason. I work in the medical field, and it just grates on my nerves... I had positive reactions. Most of our close family and friends knew that it took some work to get to this point, and everyone is still really excited for us!
Updates: How are you feeling? Any events/news to share? New pregnancy symptoms or any that have disappeared?I have been feeling great, other than the bruises from the heparin shots I have to do twice a day (blah). Less than a week to my due date, and so looking forward to meeting our daughter! Baby hasn't dropped yet, but according to my mom she didn't drop until she was in active labor with all five of her kids, so I'm not too worried. We got in the last NEEDED items this weekend (car seats, pak n play, secondary stroller frame for my car), and our overnight bags are packed and in hubby's car, so we have been taking a few much needed calming breaths! Question of the Week: Before watching Dr. OZ had no
ideal people thought that old woman is having a baby! So how did people
react when you announced your pregnancy? People have been across the board very very positive. My own doctor and the first NP we saw were both very much "pshaw, yeah, you're 40, whatever." though the high risk perinatologist I am going to was SLIGHTLY less sanguine about it, though she's come around. My mom and MiL were both super excited, and my siblings were a bit surprised only because they thought we'd decided not to have kids, not that they thought we couldn't. We did not have any difficulty whatsoever getting pregnant, I conceived within 5 months of our deciding to cease using birth control, and we didn't do ovulation tests or scheduled sex or anything like that. As Bender would say, Dr. Oz can bite my shiny metal ***.

melpitman73 - Melinda due March 28, 2012 with boy #4......11 years after boy #3 lol.
Had terrible head cold that has moved into my chest which has resulted in a serious incontinence issue....embarrisinly so. Hoping it resolves when the cold is gone. My mom freaked out and told me I was too old to have another baby - no one else seems to think so or if they do they aren't telling me. I am now 32 weeks and things seem to be fine. Normal stuff - slight swelling in my legs, my sciatica acts up if I am too active, I get heartburn if I am not careful about what I eat....but overall very pleased.
Nausea is subsiding...don't know what to think about that...boobs still sore and still exhausted by 8:00 pm, so I think all is still good. Apparently morning sickness can go away at around 8 weeks and everything still be okay. I felt okay for a couple of days and then I drank a glass of milk yesterday...blah! Apparently, milk is the trigger. No milk today and am great. Had acupunture too...
My parents are the only ones that know. With my history of miscarriages, we kinda want to be in the 2nd tri after the amnio results are back before we spill the beans. I can't wait to see my MIL's face. Several years ago, she informed my niece, who mistakenly thought I was pregnant, that I was "too old" to have children. I was only 33 at the time. Hehe! What's hilarious about that is she had her last kid when she was 30...only 3 years earlier. WTF???
Updates:How are you feeling? Any events/news to share? New pregnancy symptoms or any that have disappeared?
In general, I'm feeling really good and relatively energetic right now. I'm trying to take advantage of it to get the nursery ready, since I'm sure it won't last. I love feeling baby moving around every day and I still can't believe I've made it this far. I wasn't sure if I'd ever get to experience this, so I'm really loving all of it, even the aches, pains, and discomfort that come along with it (although I reserve the right to gripe about them from time to time!).
Question of the Week: Before watching Dr. OZ had no ideal people thought that old woman is having a baby! So how did people react when you announced your pregnancy?
I really haven't had any negative reactions at all. My family and close friends knew that we had been trying for awhile, so they were thrilled. DH's family was surprised because they said they thought we would have done it by now if we were going to (they don't know about our struggles), but very excited for us.
Update: am feeling really good. Quite an active LO. Baby is measuring in the 90th prercentile for growth. The only thing I'm noticing is I'm very tired til the end of the day.
QOTW: first didn't see the show, not a huge fan of Dr Oz, find him rather pessimistic. From what I've been reading here, glad I didn't see it. For the most part the response to our pregnancy was positive. I really had only 1 negative response from my oldlest sister and I'm dealing with that. Overall I really don't care how people feel. It is no one's business when a couple decides to have a baby.
Updates: How are you feeling? Great. Any events/news to share? It's a girl! Question of the Week: Before watching Dr. OZ had no
ideal people thought that old woman is having a baby! So how did people
react when you announced your pregnancy? My sibs and I all waited till our 30s to start our families, so it was no surprise to anyone. In my profession, it's pretty common to finish training before having kids. I know a lot of parents in their mid-late 30s.
They are happy for me because they know that I have limited time to have another child. I feel like this 2nd pregnancy was a little more under the radar. So hopefully, the rest of the pregnancy will go well.

Updates: How are you feeling? Any events/news to share? New pregnancy symptoms or any that have disappeared? Aside from aches and random pains, I have been feeling reasonably well. Yesterday, symptoms suggestive of morning sickness re-emerged...if I ignore them, maybe they will go away?!? LO is very busy most of the time, and we are almost ready for the arrival. Right now I am enjoying the pre-hospital planning (lists of who to call, what to bring, etc.).
Question of the Week: Before watching Dr. OZ had no ideal people thought that old woman is having a baby! So how did people react when you announced your pregnancy? I didn't get any comments related to my age...and I never did read that pamphlet on AMA that the prenatal nurse gave me. Actually, many people find it funny to think of me being classified as AMA (I'm 36). I did get a comment or two from one person - had nothing to do with age as she is quite a bit older...seemed fueled by jealousy and too many Coronas. The common reaction overall was excitement!

I'm on the frequent visit plan with the OB now. I gained 10lbs since my last OB appt which was a week ago! So now I can't wait til my EFW to see the changes in the baby.
Question of the Week: Before watching Dr. OZ had no ideal people thought that old woman is having a baby! So how did people react when you announced your pregnancy?
Most of the people were shocked because I had just gotten married. Nobody has voiced any negative comments.

Updates: I feel good. Baby boy is moving around a lot and I feel like the only person on earth who finds their baby's kicks a little uncomfortable, reassuring, but uncomfortable. My worst symptoms are still constipation, (though not as bad as it has been), and rediculous boogers. I have never wanted to continuously pick my nose so much in my entire life. I feel like my weight gain is starting to creep to my face, arms and ass and I know it's for a good cause, but I was hoping that I was going to be able to avoid this since I had gone so long with just my basketball stomach, of well! We have finally narrowed down our boy names to Isaac and Charles, (Ike or Charlie). Please feel free to weigh in. Signing up for a Hypnobirthing class and I have the wretched GTT next Tuesday.
Question of the Week: Before watching Dr. OZ had no ideal people thought that old woman is having a baby! So how did people react when you announced your pregnancy?
I am one of those people who is very short with a round face and thankfully good genes, so people always think I am considerably younger than my age. Usually the only shock I get is attached to when people hear my age not that I am pregnant. We have been trying for several years and had a number of losses so everyone who knows us well is really excited. The only lame comment I got was from this weirdo at work who said "Oh, you're pregnant. I didn't know that was something you were interested in". She's a bit of a nut, so I didn't take it personally, but whatever. I don't think it had anything to do with my age.

Apparently what I assumed was my due date was about about a week early. Supposedly, My Due date is 6/7. Personally, I think it will end up being closer to 6/2 if not on it. Of course I'm having a scheduled C/S so I have a little say in the date and with DS he ended up with a due date about a week prior to what they originally said as well.
Anyway, had our A/S and it's a girl! Yay!! Perfect since we have a perfect little boy now.
Don't have really any issues anymore. I'm about as big at 5 months as i was at 7-8 months with DS so I definitely need to get some maternity clothes this time around. Last time i just wore a lot of regular yoga pants and that sort of things. This time I have to have the extra belly area of the full panel pants.

So how did people react when you announced your pregnancy?I really haven't had any negative reactions at all.
Any events/news to share? It's a girl!
Question of the Week: Before watching Dr. OZ had no ideal people thought that old woman is having a baby! So how did people react when you announced your pregnancy? My sibs and I all waited till our 30s to start our families, so it was no surprise to anyone. In my profession, it's pretty common to finish training before having kids. I know a lot of parents in their mid-late 30s.
They are happy for me because they know that I have limited time to have another child. I feel like this 2nd pregnancy was a little more under the radar. So hopefully, the rest of the pregnancy will go well.
Hope your labor starts natrually and you get the birth experience you want.
Updates: How are you feeling? Any events/news to share? New pregnancy symptoms or any that have disappeared
I'm on the frequent visit plan with the OB now. I gained 10lbs since my last OB appt which was a week ago! So now I can't wait til my EFW to see the changes in the baby.

Most of the people were shocked because I had just gotten married. Nobody has voiced any negative comments.

Due 8/29/12 - surprise
Make a pregnancy ticker
