Having a c/s at Sinai 02/07... anyone had one there?

I am starting to get slightly anxious about having a scheduled c-section for this Tuesday. Has anyone had an experience there they would like to share? I am calling my OB tomorrow to find out the typical length of stay at that hospital and how soon visitors can come in after since both our parents and sibling will be in the waiting room.

  • I did not go to Sinai but my scheduled c-section was much easier than I anticipated.  I had visitors within 4 hours (probably could have had visitors sooner but I wanted time with DD and DH).  My stay was 4 nights.  Good luck!

  • I had 2 c-sections at Sinai.  First one was an emergency c-section after my son just would not come out due to size and positioning.  Second one was scheduled, however I went into labor a few hours before my scheduled time.  I was admitted and went ahead with the c-section as planned.  I had great experiences both times.  The planned c-section was much easier.  Usually the stay is 4 nights.  I was doing well and they offered to let me leave after 3 nights.  Since my son was at home I decided to go ahead and do that.  My family was there I believe around 11am to visit, my daughter was born at 4:08am.  I believe they just had to wait until visiting hours began.  I cant say enough great things about the nurses at Sinai!
  • I had my baby there via C-Section the 22nd of december.  Everyone was great except one of the nurses that we had.  I opted to be discharged Christmas Day because I wanted to go home, but I could've stayed until the 26th.  No one gave us any trouble and grandparents were allowed to be there around the clock.  If you have any lactation issues, ask for Gay.  She's absolutely fabulous and sooooo incredibly patient.
