Midwife in Winston-Salem Area?

I am thinking about a midwife assisted birth rather than OB, but probably need to be in hospital setting because of age (38 eek!). Anyone know of certified nurse midwives in the area who can deliver at a hospital? Greensboro/High Point area would be fine too. 30-40 minute drive, but have driven further for stupider things.

  • Unfortunately midwives aren't allowed to deliver at Forsyth at all. :(  However, Central Carolina OBGYN and Wendover OBGYN (possibly more) in GSO have midwives (CNMs) who deliver at Women's in GSO.  Good luck!!!

  • Barbara Evans at Piedmont Women's Healthcare in Lexington!! Let me just tell you how wonderful she is! I can't even tell you....I had my baby 3 weeks ago at 35w6d.....she took AMAZING care of me. Also I can tell you Lexington is now with Baptist and they got it going on! They take such personal care of you. Some of the nurses added me of fb and messaged me to make sure I was doing well and some have called me on the phone to check up! They are wonderful...you will not be disappointed.
  • I was very happy with the care I received from the midwives at Central Carolina OBGYN. I delivered at Women's in GSO.
