I was just curious about how far along it took you to show with your pregnancy. I'm about a 24/26 and have actually lost 30 lbs since getting pregnant, but I still have a very big belly.
I'm so afraid and sad that I will never show.
Let me know about your experiences!
Thanks.
Re: To Overweight/Obese Mommas.
I'm not overweight, but I am a tall/big person (5'10" 160 lbs pre-pregnancy) and I didn't look pregnant until 25-ish weeks.
I still don't wear maternity tops/dresses about %50 of the time.
I was a 22 pre-pregnancy. 5'4" and weighed about 232. At 38.5 weeks, I'm up to 252 but I'm 100% belly. At my 20 week appt to find out the sex, it was very clear that I was pregnant. Now, I'm asked constantly if I'm having twins because my belly is nothing but baby and I poke out so obviously.
Every woman is different, but give your body a little time. And don't be surprised if you wake up one day with a baby belly and not just a belly!
I am 5'10 and weighed 215lbs when I got pregnant (size 18). DH and I noticed the beginnings of a bump around 14 weeks and the girls at work didn't notice it until around 20 weeks. I started getting one or two comments around 24 weeks (both from older people) though no one else commented.
Even being 41 weeks currently, most people don't realize I am pregnant until I stand up and turn to the side. The ultrasound tech remarked that I don't look pregnant, much less overdue, though she said it is probably because my fluid is a little below average.
This pretty much exactly for me too.
I was a 16/18 before pregnancy. I didn't become obvious (to strangers) till 32 weeks. I noticed a bump around 20 weeks. My bump is a very odd shape though. It's kind of tapers in a bit a the belly button but I am still not that large (even though I have gained 28lbs) and I carry it all in the front.
It all depends on your body type, not even really on your weight. You can also carry differently with each pg. I used to ask people if I looked pg when it was earlier in my pg and most of them said no, they couldn't tell. So I would just remark, oh, so you are saying that I just look fat, lol. I have received comments lately that people could tell, but these are people who know I'm pg. I would say that started around 26wks. I'm very short and very obese. I too lost weight during my pregnancies.
For people who don't know you are pg, I'm sure they don't want to say anything so that they don't hurt your feelings in case they are wrong. When you are big all over, it's hard to tell if your stomach is round from pg or weight.
