Why are all baptism outfits made of craptastic fabric. I don't want my kid to look like a shiny bleached pilgrim. Any ideas on where to find something that doesn't look horrible?

we just put DD in a cute dress and sweater with tights and little shoes for her baptism, i have no idea what i am going to put on DS or when his is even going to be for that matter....i guess i should get on that.

Baby Depot (Burlington Coat Factory) has white onesies with an embroidered cross on them. I think I'm going to get him that and a little suit to go over it. I'm not a big fan of the shiny fabrics either.
Otherwise, I'm finding a pattern and having my MIL sew him an outfit so I can pick the fabric lol.

LOL I was thinking the same thing after looking through our pictures. I wish we'd have done an egg color or off white instead. But, they still came out pretty. This is her AFTER the ceremony. She cried the entire ceremony, but started playing once she realized I was taking her outfit off.

Re: Non - ugly baptism outfits?
LOL, they don't exist!!

We just got an all white outfit from macys. it was a white button down shirt white pants and a white sweater vest. $25 on sale.
I agree those shiny pieces of crap are ugly and not worth the $70.
I do like the gowns but i felt weird about putting my boy in one.
Aww, he is adorable! But I just don't like the shiny fabric. I love the hat though and the second outfit! Thanks

I got a cute cotton outfit on amazon! https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005Y1746S/ref=oh_o05_s01_i00_details
This is what DS wore for his:

I wanted something warm and comfortable for him and didn't want to spend an arm and a leg.
