Need daycare suggestions!

edited July 2021 in Ohio Babies
I am due in June and looking for a good infant daycare service to use come August when I go back to work? Does anyone have suggestions of places that I should look into? I am hoping to stay within $20-$35/day, with dropoff at 8AM and pickup at 6PM if possible.

That sounds like an in-home daycare for 20-35 a day. I currently pay 35 for two kids for 30 hrs per week, but they usually charge a little more for infants. One thing I would keep in mind to make sure they are tax deductible and to interview a lot of different candidates. I found my sitter on Care.com it's a great resource.

  • What area of town are you in? and remember you can use Job and family services website to search child care providers for location and inspection reports to see how they rate.

  • I will actually be moving before the baby is born, most likely closer to downtown/grandview for my job. I'd like for the daycare to be close to downtown but am willing to make a little longer trip for a better service provider.

  • In all honestly I would advise that you keep your mind open to the higher end of your price range. I have paid (and been paid) anywhere from $35-$40 per day (shorter hours than you are looking for) for an infant. I wouldn't trust someone to give proper care to my infant that was willing to be paid as little as $20 per day.

I'm in the Worthington/Westerville/Lewis Center area and the price for in-home childcare runs about $35/day. I hope that helps.

I think price just depends on the area. I live in a rural area and I am finding going rate is 25 a day. I am an hour north of columbus in the country.
