XP (from 12-24 mo.) Graco crib- rec?

We're looking to replace our current dropside crib.  It worked wonderfully for DD but DS is bigger & rougher.  Our current crib is white but I want to get a stained wood convertible crib for DS & we're looking at the Graco Lauren in Walnut.  I am wondering about the finish & how well will dark wood stain 'hold up' over time.

If you have a Graco (any model) with any Walnut or other color stain, please let me know what you think about it.

 TIA

  • We have the graco Lauren. It's never been used since we bedshare but it's a nice crib. Ours is the light wood color. It scratched easy when we were moving, but that was our fault really. A lot of people have this crib because it went on incredible sale at Target when we were pregnant.

  • We have the graco lauren in white. No scratches yet. We really like it and got it when it was on sale at walmart and came with a mattress.

  • We have the Graco Charleston in white. We love it! We got it to replace our dropside crib that was a bit spendy. Honestly, I much prefer the Graco!

  • Graco Lauren in walnut. It's a nice looking crib. (And like Bucklebunny, I got it at the big Target sale near the end of '10.)

  • We have the Graco Lauren in walnut and it's still scratch-free. I think it's great looking, especially for the price.

  • We have the Graco Lauren in natural and it did fall victim to DS and his chompers until we put the teething cover on. Other than that, no problems, so if your kid turns out to be a woodchuck like mine, you might want to invest in a teething cover to protect it. ;)
