I bought some Lil Joeys for Daddy for the NB stage, but now I am worried that they might not fit. What are some other "easy" NB diapers? I would like to avoid pockets, if possible.
My DH had no problem with prefolds either. In fact, he was resistant to switch to pockets now that they fit, and he still uses the prefolds pretty often. They really aren't as daunting once you play with them for a minute. My husband also thinks snappis are the coolest thing since sliced bread.
I bet your DH is a smart man...prefolds and a cover are a cinch after the first walk-through.
This. MH does 75% of all diaper changes and had no trouble with PFs and snappis. The only "daddy" part of our stash are patterns he has chosen. He likes diapers with nature themes or stripes.

My DH likes prefolds best. I like pockets best, but I would say the simplest diapers we had for the NB phase were BG XS AIOs. They take FOREVER to dry, though.
DH had only 1 request for newborn diapers - make them all the same. He didn't want to have to figure out how each type of diaper worked (which cracks me up, like they're all so complicated). So we did PFs & covers, the cheapest option. I had a few borrowed BG xs AIOs set aside for babysitters as well.
Re: Best "Daddy Diapers" for NB?
My DH had no problem with the GMD infant fitteds. They needed a cover, but it was the fitted with velcro, then a cover. Easy enough.
He did like the AIOs we had, too. Mine were Mum's Bums, but those are a rare brand. I think bumgenius XS are the most common.

I agree with this. DH does fine with prefolds. It was a learning curve for both of us.
