We are putting both kids in one room. 21 months apart. DD will be in our room until she starts sleeping better. My question is... Should I go on and anticipate needing twice the room for clothes? What are some of your solutions as far as drawers and closet space? Any other advice?

Re: clothing and other misc. storage
In our kids' room we have a changing table (mine from when I was a baby) that has 4 cupboards worth of storage. We also have a tall dresser with 5 drawers. When we just had one the dresser had all the hand me down clothes he'd gotten, sorted by size. The changing table had his diapers (we use cloth), extra blankets and the clothes in his current size. We didn't use the closet for much other than storing some larger toys and the diaper pail and trash can.
Now that we have two of them in that room we took the blankets etc out of the changing table and use 2 doors for his clothes and diapers and 2 doors for hers. The dresser has extra clothes in current sizes for both of them (can't fit a whole wardrobe in one cupboard), especially outer layers. We also moved some diaper storage to the closet.
Overall we basically rearranged so that stuff we use for both of them currently is in their room and other stuff is in storage. It means opening up the attic more frequently but not crowding their room with other things.
Also, we didn't think of this and now we need to do it. We need a diaper changing station in our bedroom (or somewhere outside of their room). We never had one with the older one because we have a small house and would always just go to the bedroom. However, now we are often scrambling when he's sleeping trying to find wipes etc somewhere else. Anyway, something to think about.
We have a tall dresser with five drawers and a wide changing table with three drawers. We decided not to buy any additional furniture unless we saw that we really needed to. Their clothes are stored in the tall dresser- dd's shirts, dd's pants, pajamas for both, ds's shirts, ds's pants. The changing table has diapers/wipes/etc, socks for both and dd's accessories, bibs.
By promptly storing away clothes as soon as they become tight we have not needed an additional dresser. We have several canvas bins on a shelf in their closet for towels/washclothes, blankets, swaddles/sleep sacks, sheets, burp clothes, etc. We also use the closet to hang some items up.
