3rd Trimester

Stomach in my throat?

I have never had this issue before unless I really over ate on something.  But this past couple of days, after every meal I feel like my food is sitting in my throat threatening to come back up.  I'm assuming it's indegestion, but I have no clue.  I have gained 26 lbs already, so maybe that has something to do with it.  I don't know.  But I neer had this issue in general or when I was pregnant with DD.  Anyone experience this and have some advice on what to do to minimize the discomfort?  TIA!

Re: Stomach in my throat?

  • I had this right around the 31-34 week mark really bad.  The only time I noticed it was if I really over ate, but even if I ate a little I felt sick.  The only thing that made me feel better sometimes was to just throw up.

  • I found that if I ate smaller more frequent meals it really helped,  and it made a big difference if I avoided all the foods that cause heartburn (tomatoes, black tea, coffee, oranges, anything spicy, etc.)

  • Try Tums, but Pepcid is the only thing that helps me, it has changed my life!

  • I've had this and heartburn almost everyday since the middle of my 2nd trimester. I don't go anywhere without Tums in my purse! They help a lot!

  • i am definitely getting to that point.

physically, your stomach kind of is in your throat at this point.

i'm really trying to eat smaller meals, but it's tough because i just want to eat everything i see.

also, zantac is good stuff. (tums make me want to barf)

  • I definitely experience this feeling regularly. For me, it feels like I'm going to throw up even though I'm not nauseous. I just assumed it's one of the joys of pregnancy, I never would have guessed indigestion.
