name son after FAL?

My husband REALLY wants to name our future son after his dad. He thinks that would be so meaningful and special and we quite honestly we can't agree on any other names.  The problem is I am not in love with the name, Greg.   I really like Owen or Dylan but my husband hates them both...

Should I give in to this because it means so much to my husband and I know it will to the family?  Then, what about my dad?

I am stuck....

    Well I guess I could always use my dads name as a midde name...but that would be Allen or my FAL's Matthew

    DH is a jr, so if it had been totally up to him, DS would have shared a name with both him and FIL.  I can't stand his middle name (Raymond), so we compromised by giving DS his first name and picking a new middle name, which is the name DS goes by.  I think DH's parents were a little butthurt, but frankly I don't care.  My kid gets his own name, not theirs.

    I can't wait for the "im getting a divorce" post in 5 years or so because your husbands were fed up with your disgusting chair asses from playing on the knot all day and getting fired 4-5 times for not doing any work. you guys are all winners!! ~ Laur929

    I don't think you should give in. He would be both of yours' baby, and it just doesn't seem right to me to give in.

    Also, what is FAL? Is it a typo?

    My FIL passed away just before DH and I started dating and I knew if we had a boy his middle name would be FILs name and no one asked me to do anything different. And SIL had all girls so no one had the chance to use the name before us and I think MIL really appreciated it.  My Dad is a douchecanoe so no way I'll ever use his name for anything so that makes it easier.

    I have nothing to add to this thread other than that douchecanoe may be my new favorite insult.
