Cervical Length

Today I went in for a doc appointment and the doctor was a bit concerned with the length of my cervix. It was 3.0cm which isn't bad but he said that is the minimum that they like to see it. At first, when he did the internal, he said it only felt to be about 1.5cm but then he pulled the detailed ultrasound that I had on Thursday and there it measured a 3. We already know, due to a previous surgery, that I am at high risk for incompetent cervix. I am seeing the MFM, who will start monitoring my care in its entirety, on the 14th at which time we will discuss a cerclage. I knew that was coming based on my history but I guess i wasn't expecting to be told that it was "borderline" acceptable this early on.

Do any of you ladies have experience with a mediocre cervix this early on? Anyone have a cerclage placed around week 14?

    My OB has the same concerns since I have had a LEEP and another cervical surgery.

    They measured it at 10w and said it looked fine (didn't get an exact measurment).  I am going for another u/s at 12w to have it checked again.

    I am also curious to know about other's cerclage experiences.
