They say things happen in threes

So I had a car accident that was my fault last week (minor but still expensive) just found out today that HD lost his job due to downsizing after being with his company for over seven years. I am so scared, sad, and feeling like my world is caving in. I know things could be so much worse...we have our health and a wonderful son that brightens our day but I am so worried....Guess I am just looking for some ears from some great ladies and possibly someone that can relate to our situation and the way I feel.

  • I'm sorry.  I hope you get some good news soon!
  • I'm sorry, that's really rough.  I'm glad you are ok from the accident, and hopefully your H will find something else very soon.  My DH lost his job when I was about 6 months pregnant, and it was so, so scary.  But, something even better came along and we haven't looked back.  Hopefully something good will come along for y'all.
  • Ugh! How rough. :(   I'm so sorry. I know that you're not alone in the crappy turn of events department. I think there a lot of ladies here who can commiserate with your situation.

    {{{{hugs}}}}

  • oh man, I'm really sorry. Hang in there--I hope he finds something fabulous soon!
    Dear Bump: You suck.
  • Oh no. :( I'm sorry and sending him lots of good job hunting vibes.
  • ((Hugs))

    I hope things get better for you and that the bad news is over.

  • Sorry to hear. :( Good vibes going your way!
  • Hugs to you. It is super scary. My DH lost his job when our DS was about 9 months old and we had just moved into a new house. It was super scary, but ended up being such a blessing in disguise. He finally had the opportunity to bond with DS, which he was never able to do before since he worked such ridiculous hours! and he was even home to see DS walk for the first time! We did go through most of our savings at that time, but we will both forever have those memories and nothing is better than that! Dont worry, the economy is picking up. He'll find something again soon! Best of luck!
  • My DH lost his job due to downsizing in January, 2 months before ds was due last year. He winded up getting a contract job (long term) that pays much better and he is happier at.

    What does your dh due? Someone might have some ideas of openings.

  • He worked for Lennar Homes. He did the construction and warranty side of things. They loved him they were just downsizing. I know he would have great references.

    Thank you to all for the encouraging words. I really appreciate it. I am going to stay positive especially around him.

  • So sorry to hear. I know how you feel.  My DH lost his job last year in mid January. DD had just turned 11 mos old. Unemployment helped some, but it was a struggle.  Luckily, he was able to get a great job on DD's birthday a month later. The job is less pay than before, but he gets to spend more time with us, so it worked out.  This could be a blessing in disguise for you guys. Stay positive, and be your DH's cheerleader and motivator, because he'll need it. Sending *job dust* your way... *hugs* :)
