Pavlik brace questions

Given risk factors, it seems fairly likely that this baby will be born with congenital hip dysplasia, and will therefore need a Pavlik brace for 2-3 months, minimum. Does anyone have any experience with this? If so, I have some questions for you! Thank you.

    Madeline wore one until she was 18 weeks old.  My biggest advice, but triple fold socks from old navy or target (old navy was my favorite).  Madeline wound up with a pssure wound under one knee due to the constant rubbing of the Velcro.  The socks added a layer between her skim and the brace.

    We found it helpful to roll receiving blankets up under her legs, as they were somewhat suspended in air when we would put her down to sleep.
