I survived!

The first 3 days back at work that is. I laid awake for a few nights leading up to my first day back worrying that I would have forgotten the kids names or how to teach. Well, it was like riding a bike! Maybe you remember but before I left I was having the worst school year ever. The woman I was teaching with was BS crazy and we didn't get along at all. And I mean it when I say I get along with everyone. Well, about 3 weeks ago she left on medical leave! I really think there was something mental going on. Either way whoo hoo! I know that sounds awful to celebrate medical leave but I think she really just couldn't hack it in the classroom and found a way out. The classroom is so much better! I feel hope now that I can actually accomplish something this year.

LO is right down the hall from me and honestly, I've hardly been sad. I go see her a few times a day and gave her a bottle during my break this afternoon. It feels like family watching her down the hall in my second home. What a relief!! The big challenge has been just going nonstop from the time I wake up at 5 until the time I go to bed at 9. 3 kids and working full time is no joke.

Most of all.....I have missed you guys! My first few days went well but I'm still jealous of those of you still home. It's cool though, only 3 + months until summer break. How is everybody?

  • Glad to hear things are going well!!  And yay that you don't have to deal with the crazy lady...I go back Monday and I'm starting to get anxious.  It sounds like your daycare setup is similar to mine, LO will be right downstairs and I can go visit him/feed him whenever I want, which is making it WAY easier to think about leaving him at daycare.  Also, I went in yesterday for DS to visit daycare, and I visited my office, etc...and it really is already starting to feel like I've never been away!

  • I just got done saying to a friend "I never would have had 3 kids if I was working.  Would have stopped at 2"  I can't even IMAGINE!!!  But CONGRATS!!!  Sounds like things went pretty well!  That is so cool that baby is right down the hall...that must provide some good peace of mind!!!  Hope you have a GREAT weekend!!!!

  • i'm so glad it went well for you! 3 kids and working sounds like a ton of work, i don't know how you do it! i just finished up my second week back at work and it's been crazy. we have 3 catalogs due next week and i have so much to do i haven't had time to think. luckily it's making the days go by really fast and it makes me not think about how much i miss DS :)

I went back to work this Wed as well and although I miss LO I really enjoy being at work. Like Kclear said the day does go by superfast. But cramming everything in at home before and after work is pretty exhausting. I'm happy its the weekend!

  • I'm jealous that LO is down the hall!  I also went back to work this week (another teacher here, 4th grade) and the nice thing is that you stay so busy there is not a lot of time to miss LO.  I am getting into the swing of things, but I'm really glad it is the weekend!
