So I am due in April. I am currently not employed. Provided I produce enough milk, I plan to BF. Am I crazy to not buy a pump? I am trying to save money since we are living on only H's income now. Since I am not working, I can get up with her and feed her whenever necessary. It makes sense in my head.
Please enlighten me from experience if I am crazy or not.
Re: Planning to BF question
nope, nothing wrong with that!
you can get a hand pump or google some youtube videos on hand expression...
when I first brought my son home, as soon as my milk came in I pumped about 20 ounces and stuck it in the freezer as an emergency/ backup /if something were to happen to me
I replaced every 3 months
It's fine to wait. I didn't pump until LO was about 4 weeks old, and even then I didn't NEED to pump. I pumped occasionally between 1 month and 6 months, and then he decided he hated bottles (and started going longer between feeds) so I just stopped. I'm home with him this year, so it's not an issue for us.
If you do need one, the stores are there.
