Anyone else getting annoyed with the sympathy looks everyone is giving you this week?? The comments are annoying too!! "You're STILL here??" "No baby yet??" "Man, I can't believe you're still pregnant!!" I think some people are actually ANNOYED that I haven't had her yet...
Guys, chill! Human gestation is 40 weeks AND miserable?! Are you kidding me?!?! I get to meet my DAUGHTER this week!! I am through the moon!! Some aches, pains, and false contractions can't even get me down ![]()
Re: 39 weekers, come in!
The comments and looks get even worse when you're overdue. I really want to throat punch some people! *lol*
And, I'll admit, I enjoy the anticipation of never knowing when labor will begin and BF and I will have to get things together and get to the hospital!
Ok, I'm done hijacking your post now.
Oh god....people suck. I got: "Don't you know how to birth a baby!??" the other day.
I wish everyone would stop calling me on the phone, beating around the bush with small talk...then finally getting to the reason they are calling - are you in labor yet?
Noooooo.
It's especially annoying coming from family who know they will get a call when something happens.
I still have a couple days to go and, as a FTM I will probably be late so let me rest, nest and relax!
Everyday I continue to show up to work I get an "you're still here!", "when is that baby coming", "are you going to go into labor at work!?"
I am so ready to get him out so I don't have to come back to work--hoping for some progress signs at my appointment this afternoon.
Make a pregnancy ticker
This exactly. This week I've had good days and not so good days at work but I am determined to tough it out until she comes so that I get to spend more time with her. Most mornings this week I've stood in the shower groaning at the thought of going in to work again (btw, I do really love my job but it's getting to the point where I just want to be done with it).
What's keeping me going at this point was that at my MW appt yesterday there was a bit of progress (1cm dilated) and they did a stretch and sweep. I'm torn between wanting her to come now so that we can end this waiting game and waiting until Tuesday next week when my favorite MW is the one who is on call for deliveries.
I agree! And I'm getting tired of people asking if I'm "doing anything
" to help it along...Basically they want to know if DH and I are going at it like bunnies to start labor. I just want to smack them sometimes - how the hell is that your business! Stop giving me advice, LO will come when she is good and ready!

Not quite to 39 weeks yet but I am already getting the comments too. My mom seriously called me three times after my OB appointment yesterday. As if I wouldn't call her as soon as I knew I was being admitted. She even went as far as to call my sister when I didn't answer the one time to see if she knew anything.
I know the feeling. I even have the annoying co-workers that always sit around and talk about what they'll do if I go into labor here. Shut up already! Geeeeeez.

Expecting baby #2 in July!
The best was today when I left work and everyone was like, "we doubt we will see you on Monday!" that just means that when I do show up Monday, it is going to be SO much worse with the comments!!
