Medela PISA: Why so many different bags?

I see a metro bag $330, on-the-go tote $295, backpack $280, and shoulder bag $250. Is there any difference in the actual pump?

These prices are from BRU and I?ve been looking at the description and I feel like I must be missing something because there shouldn?t be so much of a price difference just because of different carrying cases. TIA!

Re: Medela PISA: Why so many different bags?

  • Pump is the same and my LC said the bags are all about the same size (I was asking about "storage" space for other things).  She recommended the backpack, so that's what I got.

  • The actual pump is the same, the bags are just slightly different.  The On-the-Go Tote has built-in bottle holders and a tubing storage pocket.  The pump on the Metro Bag is removable in a separate bag and it comes 2 sizes of breastshields instead of 1.  They cover all the details on the Medela site.

  • The Medela pumps are cheaper at Awaybabyessentials.com.  I just ordered the Metro bag for (brand new) for $259 today and free shipping.
  • It's just if you have extra compartments and if the pump is built into the bag or separate. There are also slightly different features in them.  I have the shoulder bag and loved it for my first. It has room to fit in a few extra things, but not big enough to act as a purse.I fit all I needed to pump in there though to include all the components as well as a pump bra and a nursing cover (just in case someone walked in on me at work).

  • They are also cheaper at the baby depot inside on Burlington Coat Factory if you have one nearby. Sign up for their emails ahead of time and they will send you a 20% off coupon. I got the on the go tote pump for $199.

I second this!  I ordered mine on Monday (when I thought the sale was over on Tuesday) at lunchtime 12 pm EST and it was already waiting for me at my house by Tuesday at 3 pm EST.

I ordered the Metro bag.  I was an EP'er (exclusive pumper) with DS and I had rented the Symphony. Since that thing was huge (but was great) the cords were much longer and I could have that by my feet while I pumped with DS next to me on the loveseat.  I was concerned that the single user pumps wouldn't have long cords and it was essential for me to be able to take the pump out and place it on the armrest of the loveseat/sofa/or whereever I pump.  I also like that I can use the tote when I will be done pumping.

Sorry no paragraphs, bumping from my phone.
