Must Haves the next 9 months?

I had my last baby 14 years ago so I'm a little out of the loop this time around. What are the "must-haves" for pregnant women these days? I keep hearing about maternity bands? What the heck are those? :) Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks Mommas!

  • My only must haves are ice water and a sweater. I'm always thirsty and freezing. As for the maternity bands, they're basically elastic bands that you wear around your abdomen. Sorta like a looser girdle. They help keep your bloat in, and they can be folded over your jeans to look like a long tank top when you need to unbotton your pants. Very helpful!

    1. Bella bands so that you can wear your regular jeans longer.
    2. I couldn't sleep without my snoogle pillow.
    3. Tums, like by the gross.
    4. And a really good, supportive bra.

Yes These are all good... I used to Boppy Total Body Pillow, but any maternity pillow is great for sleep.  Also, if you have morning sickness you may want to try preggie pop drops.

  • If you have a desk job, something to prop your feet up.  And bonus points if you have someone to rub your feet at the end of the day. My feet were sooo swollen my last month of pregnancy.

I would say if nothing else, my snoogle was worth it's weight in gold for me. I had such back discomfort and sciatic pain with my last pregnancy so the snoogle really helped me sleep as well as could be expected.

  • I'm not sure about the next 8 months, but so faar the worst thing you can do is keep me too far away from my food. I seriously have no tolerance for hunger!

    me too!

  • 1) Don't waste your money on a belly band. Just get the maternity clothes. They're so comfy. Why spend money on something that may hold you over in your regular jeans (as uncomfortable as all get out) for the next few weeks when you could just go ahead and get the maternity pants and save yourself the cost of the band.

    2) Get a fetal doppler. Seriously. It's the best $50 I ever spent

    3) The next best $50 I ever spent was my Snoogle pillow. I NEVER go anywhere and try to sleep without it.

    Good luck!
