Cloth Diapering

Prepping Question

This could be a really dumb question, but was just wondering if it was possible to prep too early. My little one isn't due until June, but I was going to start prepping my diapers soon. I would assume that since I'm just going to prep them and put them away, it wouldn't be an issue, but you never know...thought I'd ask. Thanks!

Re: Prepping Question

  • No, you can't do it too early. The main reason for prepping natural fibers is to wash out the natural oils. For synthetics, it's just to get them through a wash/dry cycle.

If you're ready now, go for it.

  • I don't think it matters. However, if you find that a brand doesn't work, you've already pulled it out of the packaging, and it's harder to send back. You could always sell it, so no big deal I suppose.

  • I'm due in June too, and as soon as I get the last 3 things I ordered I'm totally going to start getting it all prepped!  I could probably start on the prefolds now, since everything else are AIOs or pockets with MF lining, so don't need the same treatment.  Hm, maybe I will do this today!
