Up until Sunday I was supposed to be a February momma.
As of Friday afternoon I was 50% effaced and not dilated at all.
I woke up at 8:00am Sunday morning to my water breaking in bed. We arrived at the hospital at about 8:35am and I was 70% effaced and 1.5 cm dilated. We got into our room and all hooked up and by 10:30 I was *barely* feeling contractions at all but they showed up on the monitor to be pretty regular. They decided to start the pitocin at that time. (that's when I decided to get my epi.) My Dr. came in to check my cervix again shortly after that and I was only dilated to a 2.5 but I was fully effaced. I was pretty much painless because of the amazing epi, so we just patiently waited and visited with some family while I was laboring. At about 3:00, I was checked again and had progressed to a 4. By 4:00pm I went from a 4 to a 9.5 and by 4:30pm I was pushing.
Baby Hemi Tyler was born at 5:06 PM on Sunday the 29th, 20 days early. He weighs a healthy 7lbs 7 oz and is 20 inches long. Labor wasn't as hard as I thought it would be, and my son is everything I dreamed he would be. We tried for 4 years and had 3 miscarriages and I can't even begin to explain the amount of pride I feel at finally being able to be a mother! I'm looking forward to chatting with you January momma's!
