The plan has always been to have a 2nd child. Truth be told before Ella the plan was for me to have a baby, then dw, then I would have a third. DW is still on deck but we are both super nervous about having another baby. I don't know how we would deal with another preemie if we had one. Going through the nicu with a toddler/preschooler would be so hard in an already hard situation. Since dw will be having the baby we have no greater chance of having a preemie as anyone else I guess our eyes are just open to the crap that can and does go wrong. So once dw has a job and is settled a bit we are going to start ttc. I hope that means next winter but it might mean next summer/spring. Number three is officially off the table as my uterus is now closed for business.

Our situation is very different from the typical TTC/have baby one, but we always knew there would be more than 1. and my not-so-secret wish has always been for them to be as close in age as financially possible.

As we say, when you're not doing the incubating, it makes it a little easier! (There could be a baby incubating right now... but I'm not tired, bloated, having morning sickness.... ahhhh)
We *knew*/are knowing because when you're ready to have a family, you're ready to have a family.

Well, you pretty much got your wish with those last 2. Only way they could have been closer was if she got pregnant the day she came home from the hospital.
We always said we wanted two kids. Once we has twins, we knew we were done. There was never a discussion to have more - we were/are done financially, emotionally, physically.
I just wanted to say that it is very encouraging to me that people have a kid or two and then still want to have more We had always planned on three-maybe-four, but about five minutes after the idea of twins sank in I started thinking "Maybe we'll just stick with these two." It's not something we have to decide anytime soon, thankfully. It may also depend on the outcome of Jen's pregnancy - if she does great with these two and all goes well, it might make more sense for her to just carry if we have another one, instead of me. It was pretty easy for her to get pregnant (we are *so* thankful for that), and has had a great pregnancy. But I don't know how either of us will feel a few years from now. (In other words, I'm just rambling. I'll go now )
Thanks, everyone! If I had a bit more job flexibility, it would be a no-brainer (for me, anyway. I think K questions it more). Because I don't, however, and there's no way we can live on K's income - a Ph.D. in her area doesn't equal $, unfortunately. So here we are, thinking about whether/when to have a second child. I think she's also concerned because of her age (there's a, ahem, *bit* of an age difference between us). Anyway... More to come on the subject!
When we stared talking about having kids. I wanted to be pregnant at the same time but J said i was crazy LOL then i told her maybe when Baby was born then i can try. But i want the babies to be close in age, so i may TTC really soon i haven't told anyone but my mother.
The plan once we knew we were having a girl was to have pretty much to try as soon as we could. Not that we do not love our baby girl but a boy may have led us to debate one and done. So we pretty much started trying last January...and here we are still trying. We really wanted 2u2.
Since we GOT two at once, we are putting off deciding for a couple more years. We can't afford 3 in daycare, among other things. I am hopeful we'll have one more, since my uterus is still available
We always wanted more than one. I personally would like 3 but I am not so sure that will happen. We just would out we are pregnant with #2. I would love if this one is twins so I can get 3 and only be preggo twice. LOL Twins run in the family.
So I guess we will see how this pregancy turns out before we decide on any additional children. We did home inseminations with both of the babies and would do the same if we have more.
