The post about birth control made me think of this. For those of you with experience with mirena, I have a few questions! 1. Did you like it? 2. Can you get it while breastfeeding? 3. Did you have bad side effects? (Sorry no paragraphs, I'm on my phone.) TIA!

    I loved it! It didn't give me any bad side effects, but thats not how it is for everyone. I never once got cramping from it and my period stopped immediately. I got pregnant 4 months after it got taken out. My sister on the other hand had worse period cramps and a heavier and longer period while she had Mirena. So it really depends on the person.

    And yes, you can get it while breastfeeding. Thats my plan!

    I liked it - I had it in for 4 years & then got it removed to try to concieve :) I had no side effects. I cannot comment on breastfeeding as I did not do it while I had it. I would get it again, but DH got a vasectomy - no more babies for this family. Good luck.

    I've had it twice, loved it both times. First time I had it taken out I was pregnant the next month, second time it took 5. I didn't have any periods with it in, but I did spot the first month. The only reason I'm not getting it this time is we want to try again soon (last baby and I'm not getting any younger), and I don't want the trouble of putting it in/taking it out within a year. Totally safe for breastfeeding, too.
