Im curious as to how many people have had the "heart rate" theory end up being true for them. I know they say that girls generally have higher heart rates than boys. True for anyone? Or total crap?

My Baby's heart rate was 148 at 8 weeks, and 172 at 11 weeks.

I asked my doctor this with DD. He laughed and said that based on the heart rate, I was having a girl...and I did!

Didn't work with DD for me. It was always in the 140s/low 150s and I swore it was a boy until 19 wk u/s. Chinese Gender Chart was right for me though;)

Yea, Ive heard that 140 and below is a boy and above 140 is a girl.

Our LO's heartbeat has always been rather high (150-170 range). We are having a little boy. Old wives tale didn't work out for me : )

This: DS's heartbeat was always around 160

my first dd was always in the 140's and my 2nd dd was always below so not true in my case both girls.

It was wrong for me. DS's heart rate would have indicated a girl if it were true, but... yeah.

My sister's two daughters both had heart rates above 140. My other sister's daughter also had a heart rate above 140 and her son was usually in the 130's so it seems like the wives tale was right for them. At my last U/S LO's heartrate was 136 so if all that is true I'm having a boy...Guess we'll see Next month!! Big Smile

It has worked for me and two other people I know. We will see if it is true again on the 14th. This one should be a girl according to the HB. It has been high 160s the whole time.

Didn't work last time. HB was always around 160 and I got a boy. HB's high this time too, but I'm not thinking anything of it.

hmm... so how would I tell? Mine was 139 at 6.4 weeks and 165 at 7.4 weeks. So I guess that would be a little higher? so girl? the chinese gender chart said girl as well. So I guess we'll see! I am going for a 9.4 week ultra sound next week so I will have a new number then. I know the high end is 180?

DS1 was always in the 160's so it wasn't true for him. This one so far has been 174 at 6 weeks and 165 at 12 weeks. If it continues going down I am saying girl. The chinese calculator was right on for the first one and this one says girl so I am keeping my fingers crossed. This will probably be our last one too since I have already had a lot more pregnancy complications this early so we are keeping our fingers crossed for our little girl

I was Team Green with DS. He always had a fast heart rate, and even in the delivery room while in labor, the nurses guessed that he was a girl based off HB. He is certainly all boy!
