I have been wanting a woven wrap for a while now and I finally decided it is time to get one but now I can't decide which one I want. It is so hard because I like them all. I am going to splurge and buy one new but I still don't want to spend too much since it is my first wrap. Here is my short list...
1. A Storch Leo Turkis. I love the look of this one and it is relative cheap in comparison. It also seems like it might be thicker which I think would be good since it is winter right now and I live in Ohio.
2. Gira Turmalin Diamond Weave. I also love the look of this one (I think it is similar to the Storch). I have heard really good things about Giras and I have heard that they don't really need to be broken in which I think is a plus. This one is a little more expensive and would have to be special ordered and take like 3 weeks.
3. Vatania Orkney. I like this ones look but not as much as the others. It is the most expensive but I hear they are great for learning to wrap. The fact that it is thin is both a pro and con, right now it is winter so I think I would want a thicker wrap but I am much more active in the summer so will probably wrap more then so it being thin could be good for that.
4. Colimacon et Cie Blue. I just found this one and don't have much info on it. The reviews I did find were good. They said it was pretty wide which (I think?) is a good thing when learning. The color from what I understand is really pretty and vibrant. Plus this one is the cheapest.

Of these, the only one I've actually wrapped with is Orkney(have my first Gira OTW)...but we love it. As far as thickness goes, I'd guess that the Leo is going to be the thickest of the bunch. The Girasols I've felt didn't actually feel much(if any) thicker than Orkney(which is on the thick side, as Vats go)...from what I understand, though, part of the reason people tend to avoid Giras in warmer weather is to do with the texture--as they get more worn-in, they can be kind of flannelly, which makes it feel hotter, despite not being terribly thick. One thing I would also keep in mind with the Gira is that from everything I've heard, the diamond weave wraps a bit differently than the flat "stripes" weave. TBW has a lot of information and reviews and such, so I'd definitely check that out, too, before deciding.
