***GOFURR***

When you have a sec, would you mind sharing a photo of your berry set up? I know you said that it was against the house, but I'm curious as to what it looks like. I would love to convince DH that we need a separate berry area :) Also, what kind of sun are they getting? I have to double check, but I'm 99% sure that neither the sides nor back of the house get near as much sun as where I have the raised bed.

  • That side of our house faces south to south west. So they get a good amount of sun and will get more sun once we trim some bushes. At least six hours in a day. Please hold while I see if I already took a picture of that area.

This is the only picture I have right now. When we bought the house there were huge overgrown bushes (taller than the house) that had to be removed because they were too big and infested with ants. After that DH wanted to do some earth work because the rain didn't go where he wanted (that's what years as a civil engineer will get you), so we raised the earth and sloped it away from the house by using dirt and compost. I will take a picture tomorrow afternoon of what it looks like now (remind me if I forget). Basically there are trellises set around 15 inches away from the house, berry bushes in front of those, then strawberries all around on the ground to hold the dirt in. Let me know if you have questions.
