Oregon Babies

Recommend your city!!!

Alright ladies! My SO and I are trying to figure out were we want to settle down with our family. We have no choice but to stay in Washington or Oregon.

Where do you live?

Do you like it? If so, what is your favorite thing about it?

Is it family friendly?

Is it affordable?

In your eyes, how much crime is there?

What do you not like about it?

Thank you sooo much for your time and helping me out!! Smile

Re: Recommend your city!!!

  • I moved from Seattle to Salem because its way more affordable then Seattle.

Very family friendly there are some great parks in the area and your also an hour way from portland and the beach.

I live in West Salem and I have family in South Salem which in my eyes has no crime.

My only complaint is that my family is in Seattle. Its a great place to raise a family.

  • Portland is amazing!

They have hawthorne street, saturday market, farmers market, and so many great transportation options! We are eco-friendly!!!!

Certain places are more affordable than others and same with crime. Check it out. Spend the whole day there and you'll fall in love!!

  • We live in Forest Grove which is off Hwy 26 about 35 minutes west of Portland. Its an amazing city with a wonderful small town feel though it is much larger than it seems. I've lived here for 8 years and have only been active in the community for the past 4 (I commuted before that) and in the past 4 years I've met so many wonderful people here and best of all is the Mom's Club, its large and incredibly active, there are multiple indoor play facilities in the area, a great dance studio, aquatic center, theatre that often does children's plays, many restaurants and two 2nd run movie theatres, one that you can order a full meal at. When you want to do something only found in the "big city" its just a short drive into Portland. Oh, and you can easily get a brand new 3000 square foot home for $350- $400k and 2000 square feet for under $250k
