Have you tried getting LO to drink from a straw sippy? I gave one to Oliver and he just started chewing it. Haha. I think I gave a straw to Ben when he was 12 months and he figured it out quickly. Is 7-8 months too young?
he can't pick up the bottle by himself but can get water out of the straw. Took me squeezing the bottle for him to realize what it was and he's really on/off with it but I figure we'll get the hang of it soon. I don't really push too much water whoops
Zoe drinks from a straw and has been for about 2 months. I only tried it because she was sucking on the other sippy cup so it seemed like a straw would work. She has a few different kinds and they all work, but I try to avoid the wider straws so she doesn't down as much water.

Same here. For about 2 months now, she actually does better with a straw than a sippy. The day she got the hang of sucking on the sippy cup, I tried the straw. It's much easier to carry a straw around than a cup
nope but she sure tries! Yesterday I had bought an orange juice at a restaurant and the cup had a straw...she kept tearing it out of my hand and putting it in her mouth. I'm pretty sure she was sucking but she also kept bending the straw lol

I dont let her sip from the cup with a straw but I do put some water in the straw and put it in her mouth and let my finger go and let you slowly suck it out. I am afraid of her chocking...
I was playing with Emma one night before Christmas when we were out to eat. She kept going crazy wanting a drink of my water so I let her put the straw in her mouth and before I knew it, I had water all over my lap. And it wasn't because she knocked the cup over. It was because she had actually sucked water up the straw and didn't know how to swallow so much at one time. Definitely caught be by surprise! She would have been 7 months but I haven't encouraged straw drinking at all since so it's not like she could have gotten better at it or anything since then.

Yes, I have a blog and it's hilarious (except when it's not)
She just this week figured it out. We have this playtex cup.
This is the one we have and he figured it out immediately.

He does like to chew it a lot too though!
