mini-crib vs. pack 'n play

Hi ladies,

I have so many questions since we've started our registry, but I'll limit myself to one for the day.
We live in a typical Baltimore rowhome, so space is limited. We've registered for a pack 'n play, but I was also looking at the mini cribs for the amount of traveling we do and for possibly using it as a bassinet for the first few weeks/months in our bedroom. What do you ladies think would be the best option? Register for them both? or just use the bigger pack 'n play for the bassinet and traveling and such. I'm sorry if this is a silly question.

    We used the PNP for the first 2 months in our room, the bassinet feature.  We actually still use the PNP when we go out of town and can't get a crib at a hotel or rental, and he's 2.

    We had DS in this in our room for the first 5 weeks. It was great because it was small and took up not very much space. We also have a PNP and that's what we've used for travel. We sold the bassinet after DS was done with it and whenever we have #2, we might just use the PNP in our room. It's bigger, but then we wouldn't have that plus a bassinet. The PNPs have a bassinet feature which keeps the "mattress" elevated until they're like 15lbs.

    I have both, a mini pnp from Graco. When A came home from the hospital she was so tiny that I was worried about having her in the crib. We actually have a bigger pnp, but our bedroom is tiny, so the pnp would not fit where I wanted her. Personally I only used the mini pnp for about three weeks before I moved her to the crib. I would stick with the regular size pnp (if you have room). We used it a ton when we went out of town, although now that she is so tall, she can't really fit comfortably in it.

    I'd hate for the mini pnp to be purchased and not used or only used for a short period of time. I'm thinking we'll just register for the pnp and if we find that it's way too big for the space that I'd like to put it in, then we'll figure it out then. Who knows :)
