Indiana Babies

Are you going downtown this week?

We are going to go downtown tomorrow because we really wanna experience the super bowl village...but I'm torn on if I should bring the stroller or just wear DD...If I have a stroller, I can stash away a cooler with snacks and drinks so we don't have to buy anything, but then I have to deal with navigating a stroller downtown with all the people...but I don't know if I would want to wear her for the whole time.

Thoughts?

  • i have no advice to offer but wanted to say i'm a little jealous of everyone around indy getting to experience the superbowl village this week!  it sounds like lots of fun!

  • We went. It was fun and I'd like to go back with just DH and leave DD at home. I would wear her depending on what time you go. After 3pm yes wear her. Too many people to deal with a stroller, earlier in the day on a weekday a small stroller should be ok.

  • See and I'm torn because my mom said she saw all kinds of strollers last night....but I thought it would be easier to wear her.  But she's just not used to being worn, and I don't really want to find out that she doesn't handle it very well in the middle of the biggest event in Indy history.

  • We went last Friday evening. I took the stroller, I did not want to wear her/carry her the whole time. It was a little harder to navigate and my main concern was people being so close and reaching in the stroller. I feel you would have more control over that if they were right up against you. I just put the canopy in front of her instead of over her head to block people.

  • We were there last night and I saw some of both. There were sooooo many people there and every day closer to the Super Bowl they are expecting more people to show up, especially with this awesome weather. I wouldn't want to try to push a stroller though the crowds, but I can see your hesitation in carrying her too. Hope you have a great time, whatever you decide. It was awesome!
  • DH and I are planning on going tomorrow too.  Luckily LO is ins't here yet so I will be "carrying" him.  :)  Unless you think she will get too heavy I would probably wear her.  I would think a stroller would be a pain!

  • We are not going but DH's brother and SIL went and suggested that DH's sister not bring their stroller when they go this weekend. He said what other people have said- just that there were sooo many people, and even more are expected this weekend. Maybe you could "practice" carrying her around the house up until you go. Sounds silly, but might help- idk my LO isn't here yet, just a thought!

  • Definitely wear your DD.  The lady I work out with said that people with strollers were stuck and could not get through the crowds b/c there were so many people down there.  She said she had to keep her arms pinned to her side to get through the crowds.

  • I say definitely wear her! And I agree with pp, try wearing her around the house to get her used to it. I wouldn't want to mess with a stroller in those crowds!
  • We saw lots of strollers and baby wearers. Connor is way too heavy for me to wear for any length of time these days, so we took the stroller and were glad we had it. It will probably be more crowded when you go, though. I do think that having a stroller just to hold crap is a major advantage though. I say go with what you're used to.

BTW I'd love to see an updated picture of your sweet girl - can't believe she is already 10 months old!

  • I would take the stroller. It's a lot of walking and I wouldn't want to wear my kid that long.
