Anyone else have this problem??
I keep putting DS to bed after I've attempted to feed him and he seems to be refusing it, but I think he's frustrated because it's not coming fast enough. Then he cries and it seems like he's just deciding that he really is hungry, when he was hungry all along! At least I think that's what's happening. Tonight, I got him up again and kept switching sides to get him to stimulate my nipples (he refuses on one side after a few seconds, but then is willing to try again on the other side). FINALLY, some milk started to come out, but apparently it wasn't enough and he didn't want to try on the other side. I put him in bed again, but he's not settling down. Off I go with my dried out breasts.....
Oh, and I already took a dose of Fenugreek tonight and I have AF right now (that can dry up your supply, too, right?).
Re: Not enough milk left at night!! SOOO frustrating!
I feel you. ?I had this problem with my twins. ?AF is the worst! ?Around 7 months we upped their solids during the day and that helped A LOT. ?I should say--we added a dinner meal. ?We had been doing just morning but when we added dinner, it got a lot better. ?
?
Do you have a milk supply? ?Occasionally we would give them some from the frozen supply but rarely because I didn't want them relying on that milk (thus giving my breasts an excuse not to produce more).
?
It'll get better after AF and by upping calories in other ways. ?GL!?
My pumping post down below says the exact same thing. I've been told there is a supply dip around 8 months. I've been doing everything I can to get my supply back up at night, oatmeal, beer and fenugreek.
GL!

Ok, good, he decided he ate enough and is now asleep. Phew!
I wonder why there's less when AF is in town. Losing fluids??
Another thing I remember with my daughter was she would refuse to drink if the milk wasn't coming out like a firehose! she was so spoiled that she even had a favorite side because it let down faster. She'd scream if I tried to put her on the "slow" side. I should have known then she'd grow into a super-opinionated preschooler.
I also sometimes supplement with some formula at bedtime if my baby has literally sucked me dry. I still try to feed him throughout the night on his regular schedule, but I think we both sleep better this way.
