Great Growth Ultrasound today!!

Today I had a growth ultrasound and they also measure the AFI. The AWESOME news is that the fluid index went up to 7.8 from 5.2 on Sunday!! Still low, but the best number so far! Yay!

The baby's growth is at the 41% percentile and she weighs 1 pound 13 ounces. She also flipped from breech to head down (yay!), which was totally unexpected since both my OB and MFM said it was highly unlikely due to the low fluid. Let's hope she doesn't flip back!

I have another fluid check ultrasound in 1 week, and another growth scan ultrasound in 3 weeks. So far, holding steady, and promising!

Yesterday DH and I got a tour of the NICU, and we were more than amazed. It is a new unit in a new tower, and completely different than when my nephew was born at 34 weeks and spent 10 days at this same hospital's NICU. 2 years ago, they had pods, with about 3 or 4 isolets in each pod. Now, each baby has its own room, and each room has a pull out sofa/bed, TV, and bath and shower. Parents can stay with their babies 24/7 and come and go when they want, and the ratio for the Level 3 NICU is 2 babies per nurse and Level 2 is 2 to 3 babies per nurse.

I hope to keep her cooking as long as possible, but if she has to go to the NICU, this is the NICU that I want her at!

That's fantastic! Any talk of letting you go home to your own bed, now that the number is higher?

We'll see how my subsequent AFIs are, and probably one more growth scan, as well as how well all the NST monitoring goes. So, maybe 3 weeks if all goes well?

Right now, I'm pretty much resigned to living here until she arrives, and if I get to go home and finish bedrest there, it will be a bonus! They're doing renovations here at the hospital, so we're going to be moving back to the regular High Risk floor. DH and I have already lobbied the nurses and requested the room we used to be in, since it was "in the country" (far away from the main nurses station and the entrance) and only shared a wall with 1 other room. These last 10 days we've been on a regular mom and baby floor, and we've had some of the LOUDEST neighbors! Luckily, they only usually stay 2 or 3 days, so it's not too bad. Smile
