Milk...no thanks!

Ever since I nursed my first son almost 3 years ago it totally messed with my mind in one unique way. I have not had one sip of cows milk since then and the very thought of doing so grosses me out. Nursing my second son has completely reinforced this oddball way of thinking. I can still eat dairy products but for some reason I simply can't bring myself to drink plain milk. Does anyone else feel this way? My husband finds it totally odd and likes to poke fun at me. So for the foreseeable future...soy milk it is.

Re: Milk...no thanks!

  • well, we are the only mammal that drinks another mammals milk...

that being said, I like milk. And all dairy (do you not consume any dairy, then?). However, my son's stools have been green since 3 weeks of age so I gave it up and am noticing an improvement so I might be off it for awhile.

It's sad, I miss cheese and yogurt the most.

  • Oh no, I eat the crap out of dairy products. I do believe I would die without cheese and ice cream.

That's such a bummer about your sons intolerance for your dairy but it's great that you're seeing an improvement. I hope all stays well on the poop front.

  • I love eating dairy products.  While I was pregnant meat was grossing me out so most of my protein came from eating yogurt and milk.  After DD was born she had reflux so the doctor recommended going diary free.  I did it for 3 weeks and it was sooo hard.  It didn't help at all so I got to start eating it again.

  • I like chocolate milk, but I wierdly only like plain old milk with fried egg sandwiches or mac and cheese.
  • I've always felt that way. I always thought it was weird to drink something that come from a cow. They only dairy product I used to eat a lot of was ice-cream but now I am lactose intolerant so I guess milk is getting back at me.

  • I've never liked milk - but more because of the taste. I love dairy products, just can't drink a glass of milk. I do eat it on cereal. Although now for DS I am dairy free
