I?m being irrational (CD3 V-Ultrasound)

Last month wasn?t bad because I had an ultrasound on CD 5 and AF was almost gone, but this cycle is different. For some reason I am freaking out about a CD3 ultrasound this afternoon. I finish BCP due to cysts and this AF has been terrible so far. I know our RE?s and their nurses see and do this every day so I shouldn?t be embarrassed. Am I the only one that has had to build themselves up before going in for a monitoring appointment while on AF?

How long does it take for you to get over? Any other V-ultrasound I?m fine with.

Also a some cyst shrinking dust would be appreciated. If these cysts have disappeared or are small I can start femara tonight! FX?

As a nurse myself I can assure you it is not a big deal to them. You are most definitely not the first woman to have an exam or an US while having their period. Try to remember that this is their job and they see this kind of stuff everyday so they are probably not affected by much anymore.

Good luck with the US and I hope you get to start the femara tonight!!

Saying that from a nurses standpoint makes me feel better! I know its irrational to have this feeling. I keep thinking I wouldnt mind if I was in labor and they were down there and I dont mind if they are doing it any other time so whats the diffrence..... Thanks!

It does suck but it really doesn't phase the drs and nurses. After my lap and hysteroscopy I had extreme bleeding and I had to go in to have them put more air in the balloon in my ute to stop the bleeding. I'm not kidding when I say they put some sort of BUCKET underneath me. They have truly seen it all.

It's gross to us, but no big deal to them -- seriously they see this all the time. I know what you mean though...I had my first u/s on CD 2 this cycle which was my heaviest day and it was not cute. Smile

While it does seem weird and gross, remember that they are totally used to it. Everytime I've went in for a CD3 ultrasound, they have those "puppy pads" down b/c they know that you're probably still on your period. I always shower before those appts, but my office even has personal towelettes in each room so you can clean yourself up some if needed. If yours doesn't, you could always bring one with you.

FX that those cysts have shrunk!

My nurses always have me use the restroom before a date with the dildo cam... a clean up befor the procedure can go a LONG way...

I was nervous the first time, but didn't care too much. When I did start caring was when a girl I went to HS with walked in to do my u/s Indifferent

BAWHAHA That would have sucked. I think I would have asked to have a new nurse especially if it wasnt someone you liked or got along with - or even if it was someone you did.

My appointment wasnt as bad as I thought luckily it looks like I was only heavy this morning and my AF has pretty much stopped now so we were golden!!!!
