My RE is super conservative and likes patients to be on progesterone and estrogen support through 16 weeks (vs. 12 weeks on a fresh cycle). It seems a little silly to me, because at some point you have to believe the placenta starts working and makes up for the lack of progesterone/estrogen production you would have if you ovulated naturally.
So here are my questions: if you did an FET, how long were you on estrogen support? How long on progesterone?
Thank you!!
Re: I have FET questions also - if you did an FET, please come in!
I was on an FET protocol. They had 9 weeks of estrogen and progesterone support as standard. (it is 8 weeks for a fresh). But I stayed on PIO until 11ish weeks because of my SCH.
So I am with you. Seems silly silly silly!!! And unnecessarily painful. :-(
Because we're fancy like that.
Yes! And Dr. C said I could quit at the end of the first tri, so I'll probably at least wean myself soon!
Just wanted some empirical evidence to back me up! You know, in case my OB's ok wasn't enough.
Yeah, Who needs an OB when you've got ladychicago!?!?
Because we're fancy like that.
Hmmm, estrogen for about 10 weels and progesterone for 12! and it worked
good luck
I was on estrogen for 10 and progesterone for 12 or 13 (can't remember...it was just around the nt scan). My sons pedi urologist actually thinks that long length of time contributed to hypospadia, so next time Im going to push to get off sooner.
I didn't read this first - it seems it is worth looking into further.
I was shocked when they told me (and cried for days). There's apparently new data which shows there could be an impact in little boy embryos. They think the high amount of female hormones impacted/delayed my sons ability to produce testosterone and has caused issues with his penis which we now need surgery to correct.
Ill add that my RE increased me to high levels of both. I was on 6 vivelle patches and 2 Ccs of PIO.
I am thankful every day for my miracle after infertility.
And thrilled to be pregnant again after FET!
I agree! Steveandkim - I'm so sorry you're going through that!
I would stick with my RE's advice if were specific to my case, but this is her general protocol.
I do appreciate everyone's input! Thanks!
