I went to my first Twin Moms group meeting tonight and met one girl who said that she gave birth 3 days AFTER her due date. She went PAST 40 weeks! And she was a skinny little thing.
Maybe she was lying... i dunno. Sounds CRAZZZZZZZZZZZZZZY!
If that happened, I would bet that it was against medical advice. It's rare to make it to 38 with twins without going into labor. But letting someone with twins go past 38 weeks is like letting a singleton go past 42 weeks with the risk of the placenta failing (as I understand it).
Expecting #3/4 after a long battle with infertility.
My OB has already told me that in her office 38w=40w with twins and she won't let me go past 38. I'm guessing either she had very small twins, or ignored her OBs advise.

Ditto. My due date is technically July 26, but she said there is no way I she will let me go past July 2. I don't have the option, but I doubt I will want it by then
And with the delivery trifecra of one twin vaginal, one c-section with general anesthesia for twin B, Spencer and Sidney joined us at 35 weeks exactly on June 18.
I am not pregnant with twins, but I read your post and remembered a video I saw. The video was a woman who was 40 weeks and 3 days pregnant with twins and had taken it upon herself to try and induce labor by dancing. Here is a link to the video, it is pretty funny.

It's possible, but most OBs follow ACOG's guideline. I don't know that I'd choose an OB who didn't.

I'm with PPs, maybe her "due date" was her due date adjusted for twins, i.e. 37 or 38 weeks. If not, that's crazy!!
