i'm wondering how the transition from bottle to sippy went for C? I think we're finally the point where H is ok with the taste of WCM (her bottles are 75% WCM and 25% formula.)
I tried to get her to take it from a sippy cup and a straw cup yesterday and she was having no part of it, so i gave in and got her a bottle. Figure I'll get to the weekend and then just ditch all the bottles cold turkey and up the yogurt.
Re: **preissless**
C is on 100% WCM now, and he doesn't mind the taste. He is still partial to bottles, but we have found a straw cup that he understands more than others. My pedi said work on weaning off the bottle completely by 15 months, so we are working with our DCP to try to get him more on the straw cup during the day, and only give bottles in the morning before DC and right before bedtime.
I took Wines suggestion and got a milkshake (well, a Frosty) and put a filled up straw in C's mouth and he figured out how to slurp it out by himself, while it was tilted upwards. He has more trouble getting the flow through the straw going, and he gets frustrated. The straw cup that works best is one that has a valve that will trap the milk so it doesn't totally go back down in to the cup, so he doesn't need to work as hard to get it started.
Others on here went cold turkey and it seemed to work well. I think maybe at the end of this month, once he understands "bye bye" a little more, we will say bye bye to the bottles.
