Has anybody had their 1st tri bloodwork come back with a positive antibody screen? I got a call from my OB's office a bit ago that mine did. I gather that this has to do with the RH pos/neg thing. My SIL (DH's sister) is in her 3rd tri right now and had the Rhogam shot, and I know their grandmother lost 5 full term babies to this before medical intervention was available. The nurse said something about it being hereditary. So, of course, I spaz. Just when I was starting to feel confident about pregnancy. Wah.
I'm worried enough about having this baby in a smaller town - 3rd c/s, my m/c history and ANA thing, likely will have GD again, etc. - and I just want my Dr. S back. There is an excellent hospital that specializes in high risk pregnancies that I could go to if this RH thing proves problematic, but it's a 2 hour drive away. Hello, suck.
Just looking for any info or personal experiences. I'm having more bloodwork done and will have more info by Friday. Maybe it's just a false positive. I hope.
Re: positive antibody screen? (worried!)
I have to get the RH shots b/c I'm O neg and the husband is + whatever. It's never been a problem for us.
I would think if you guys were +/- you should already have had these shots. I'll fully admit this is the extent of my knowledge on it though.
I bet you could call Dr. S office and talk to a nurse there
hope it's nothing to worry about!
Thanks, ladies.
That thought crossed my mind. I wanted to have him take a good look at my surgical report again, anyway, so my OB up here could be aware of any potential issues. I think I'll wait and see what the results are on Friday and call them Monday if there's reason for concern.
And yeah, part of my confusion is that this wasn't an issue before. Makes me more hopeful it was just a flukey result.

Are you sure it's not related to the ANA thing?
I tested positive last time for ANA but no mention of it this time for some reason.
Hope all is ok! Keep us posted.
After thinking it through more, that would actually make more sense. So of course, now I'm even more panicky. Awesome.
So you tested positive for it during your pregnancy and everything was okay?? That would make me feel infinitely better. The only time I tested positive for it was shortly after my 2nd m/c, when I did the recurrent loss panel.

Sorry! I truly didn't mean to make you more panicky. Yes, it worked out just fine (see handsome boy #2 on the right in my siggy pic).
Email me if you want to discuss. frau dot ndk at gmail
ygm! Thanks.
ETA: and no, you didn't make me more panicky! I actually took a nap and woke up thinking "duh, it's probably more likely to be the ANA thing".
