So, y'all have inspired me. Kate and I would like to go ahead and kill some, uh, I mean plant some plants. I would love some veggies, cucumber, okra, squash, tomatoes, maybe some basil... Problem is that in addition to killing small plants, I seem to have managed to kill the baby trees in our back yard too. ::sigh:: All this to say, we have zero shade.
What can we plant now that loves full sun and is fairly forgiving? I think we'll be ok with watering it since Kate begs to go in the backyard every day, but let's be real here. I've managed to kill cacti in the past.
Re: Garden Girls
I think tomatoes and basil are both fine, beyond that I dunno. Caprese anyone?
Do you have a privacy fence around your yard? I was watching to see where the sun was hitting yesterday and there's a spot along my fence that at least blocks the harshest afternoon sun, that's where I'm putting my beds down. It's better than nothing at least. You could also get/build a trellis.
