They are having 3 new pricing structures. Everyday pricing, month long sale prices and then twice monthly clearance prices. I love this idea. No more coupons, spend $25 to get $10 off. I think I might start shopping there more. I wish other retailers would follow suit. Kohl's in particular.

I'm really excited because DH wears a shirt and tie every day...and gets them all it JCP. I already checked out the new low prices on the shirts and pants he wears and was happy. The pants were $80...but I've never actually paid $80 for them. Now they are $40. It will be nice to buy them when he needs them without having to wait for a sale. Even nicer since DH did buy them whenever and would have paid the $80 without batting an eye.

I think it's such a great idea and I shop there for a lot of my clothes. I agree that other retailers should look into doing this as well.

I rarely shop there -except when I get those coupons for $10 off of anything. I got the new catalog the other day and it looks totally hip! I told DH that I would probably start to shop there more. Already have my eye on a new knife set that is 50. for the month of Feb.

No idea. It came to the house on Saturday. It didn't even say JC Penney's, just jcp on the front. I did get mailed coupons but wasn't even sure how I ended up on that mailing list.

I think it will be really interesting to see how the new plan does. It seems like a bold move for JCP in this world of coupons and sales. People are just used to clinging to those coupons and planning around them. I hope it works out and people love it! I am not a big JCP fan, so it won't change my shopping at all, but I do like the idea of it.

anytime I have bought clothing there - it falls apart...

I think the strategy is going to be interesting to watch but I wonder if base prices of things will be pumped up or deflated based on this structure..

i think its great and I love the commercials too. Kohls makes me insane. I hate that I can shop there on a saturday and it is a great price but if I go back monday its like $10 more.. its ridiculous.

Although I will say, I did like getting their coupons.. you could get awesome deals with those.

JCP always has good clearance. I got DH a nice sweater vest for work there for $9 a couple weeks ago.

Should be interesting. DH buys his dress shirts from there, and it's always silly to me to look at the receipt. It says his shirts are like, $49.99 usually and are marked down to $18.99. Right, except that I've never seen them for $49.99.

I got the catalog too, and I was surprised at some of the clothes. They were cute! Those shoes on the cover were adorable.
