looking for a new car for our new family of 4 and thinking of either the Ford Edge or the Ford Flex.
wondering if any real life MoM's own one and can share their thoughts on car.
I tried the Britax Advocate car seats in both vehicles and the seats fit slightly better in the Flex. But neither car had much room in between the seats - 2 Advocates eat up most of the space.
Re: Any MoM's have a Ford Edge or Flex? Like or Dislike?

Thanks for quick reply. I LOVE your siggy pix. Off topic, but where did you get those hats?? The pix is just precious!
Mostly we need more room. I have a Pontiac Grand Am and we are scrunched in there so tight and my Graco stroller barely fits. With the stroller in the trunk, I have no room for groceries, just squeeze in the diaper bag.
How is the ride? Does it drive like a car or more like a minivan? I didn't want a minivan if I didn't have to and wanted a cross over type vehichle instead.
Do you think the car has enough room to grow with your kids and all their stuff as they get older?
Thank you
The hats belong to the photographer that did our NB pics but she got them from "In The Loop Bowtique," you can find it on FB.
I went from a VW Cabrio to this car and I didn't feel like I was driving a van/ truck. It felt like I was driving a car. I do think there is room to grow with the twins, but I'm not sure if we would be able to fit an infant seat with the two convertibles (which may be a concern for me, not sure yet).

I have a flex and one-year old twins who still sit rearfacing position. I like the flexibility of the third row and how you can play with storage space. Our city select stroller fits well.
Last xmas we traveled four adults and the twins with me sitting between them (to keep them entertained) and it was great!

My Blog!
We have an Edge- I hoenstly don't think its going to be enough room. We have one DS and when we go on road trips, every inch of that car is filled. The back seems big but fills up very quick. You can fit 2 carseats in the back but only a child or small person can fit between them. When I go to costco- I need the entire trunk plus the row to fit everything. The trunk is high so you can only stack so much. It's a great crossover though, just not good for big families.
If you plan on having more kids, I def do not recommend the Edge.
We have a toddler and are having twins, we are selling our Edge and getting a T&C mini. I'm not into minivans- but this one is awesome!
We have the Flex and I love the way it drives (we also have the Eco-Boost engine, so all that horsepower + 7 seats and 19mpg is good). It drives like a car, definetly not like a high=profile van/SUV.
With DD#1 in the 3rd row, and the twins in the 2nd, the only place for the stroller is 1/2 of the third row, and it almost doesn't fit : /
I can fit between the Chicco's in the 2nd row, but I couldn't get the seatbelt on : /
There isn't much storage if you need the back for a kid (or two), and it's tight with a stroller, but I can reach DD#1 from the back door, so that is good.
DH can't have the seat adjust back/forth when he gets in/out of the car because he's tall and the RFing infant seat behind him won't fit.
While it's tight now, we needed a car that we could keep for the next 7 years, not want to trade once the kids were into boosters. And it's fun to drive ; )
