I am a little bummed out. I went to my first appointment expecting to hear something and got nothing

I asked if they would do an ultrasound and my MW told me "Not until my NT scan in two weeks." LAME!!!!! Pretty jealous of all of you who have heard the heat beat so far. Looks like another loooong two weeks.

They couldn't find the heartbeat on doppler at my appointment at 10w3d. Thankfully my OBGYN has a u/s in office and isn't afraid to use it. They did a quick u/s to check the heartbeat.

That's bizarre that they wouldn't check with an u/s machine. How does the doctor even know if you are pregnant?

I know right?!?! I thought that they would at least send me for an ultrasound. My appointment was at the hospital so it wasn't like they "Couldn't" do a scan. I guess I just get to play the waiting game for a bit longer.

I had that happen to me at 10w2d on Monday and the Monday before. My midwife gave me three options, come back at my normal appt in a month, come back in a week for a heart tones check or go get an u/s. The first time, we decided to wait a week and try again, this last time though, we decided we wanted to know everything was a'ok so we had a u/s this afternoon. Turns out my uterus is tilted which may have been why they couldn't hear it on Monday. Anyways, you could try calling the midwives office and ask for a referral for a dating/viability check or hold tight for another couple weeks!

my ob won't even try the doppler untill 12 weeks, and even then isn't worried about it if they can't find it. so i've seen the HB, but never heard it. her u/s machine doesn't do the fake HB thing some do.

Mine couldn't find it at 10 wks 6 days. He said I have a tilted uterus too. He dis an u/s though. 2 weeks will fly by!

DH and I went in for my eleven week appoinment yesterday and he said that he would try for me but to not expect anything. We did get to hear it which he said was very rare and we were very lucky. Also, this is the first confirmation (either than the handful of IC that I used the first week we got a +) that I am even pregnant. I haven't had an ultrasound, nothing. As long as your feeling fine try to wait until next week, or your next appointment. Try not to get yourself too worked up!

Same here -- I was getting nervous at first -- we heard a teeny glimpse and then she pulled out the hand held U/S machine and we saw that everything was good.

The nurse could not find the baby's at 9w5d. She said it was normal for the doppler not to pick up the heartbeat that early. She then had us to to get a U/S since the tech was there that day and the machiene is in the office. We were able to see the heartbeat and see the peanut moving around.

On my second visit to my OB i was 11 weeks and he used the doppler but couldnt find a heart beat and thought that my conception date was wong so i had an emergency internal ultra sound and turned out i was really 11 weeks and the baby had a heart beat and eveything else was great, sadly i didnt get to see the lil one my husband had gotten lucky and seen the lil hands n feet awwww Big Smile

I wont hear/see anything until my first ultrasound two weeks from now. And I try to be ok with it. When I was pregnant with my second son, I had to have my appendix out at 18 weeks preg. Even then they had a hard time finding the heart beat with the doppler.

I went for my 1st OB appt. on Monday and was 10w2d....she said it was too early to hear the HB with the doppler. I thought this was odd, because I thought I had heard it at 10w with ds.

Luckily, I had already had 3 u/s with my RE and saw the HB.
